I was a librarian years ago, and I really liked reading the fun books (to kids) because the kids would always run and check those books out later. It did get them excited about reading, and I'm happy to see that.

Everybody makes noises when they're kids. But when you reach a certain point, you stop so you can be gainfully employed.

It's already been tried. St. Christopher's in Richmond applied to join the VHSL way back, but they were rejected.

If we continue to postpone funding, not only would we lose money, but we could be in violation of our contract.

All we ask him to do is throw strikes. He doesn't throw hard. We mixed it up, and he did a good job. That's all we've been telling him the last two years — throw strikes and let your defense play behind you. That's our Achilles heel — pitching. We're really thin in pitching. It was really good to get the six out of Travis tonight.

Just because the Teamsters are a universally recognized union doesn't mean they will have any more rights than the FOP had. That may be something they will have difficulty adjusting to.

It wasn't a legal battle. What we had to use was public sentiment, public relations and politics. It was a discussion where one side had all the power, but the other side had a tremendous amount of good will. That's what you fought back with.

It's easier to get public sentiment for police and fire than most any other type of employee. The thing I hope the Teamsters don't do is come in here with a big bat and spend all the public relations that have been built up over the years. That would be easy to do.

They just out-hit us. Our pitcher was doing a good job and even took the ball to the outside, but they were hitting that too.

Too many errors and walks, the later it got the more errors and the more we threw it around. It was a win, but it wasn't a pretty win.

I was pleased with his performance tonight.

We got a little more aggressive at the plate, we're not looking at so many. It was a good win for us and it might build our spirits up.

I'm proud of my team tonight with the way they fought back and showed me they have heart. We got some clutch hits tonight, but we cant seem to put a complete game together.

I'd rather lose outright than come back then loose like that.
