This kid has a good leg. He looks like he's what we thought he was.

We're going to be in a little bit of a rebuilding mode, but I think we have some talented players to fill in at certain spots. But until those guys mature in ball games, you really don't know what you have, especially at quarterback and receiver.

I've already put a call in. I'd love for them to come down and meet the guys before the game.

We've been waiting to send ours and talk to their video guy. They don't want to exchange tapes, which is fine. That's their deal.

The Michigan State coaches asked the Kent State coaches not to send it to us because we wouldn't send them ours. I have no idea why they would lie to them. It's kind of a bad deal. But you do what you do to win, I guess.

They (won't) send us their tape. Also, they put the word out that it was us that didn't want to (exchange videos), which was not true. We've been waiting to send ours and talk to their video guy.

Usually somebody tells you they're not going to send you (tapes). They tell it to your face, 'We don't really want to exchange.' But that's the way it goes. They don't have to exchange if they don't want to. They're not in our conference. But it's kind of unreal.

We can get what we need off of (a TV copy), but it's not the same.

It's good news, but he's probably not going to be back this year. Unfortunately, he's going to miss the season, probably. We'll see how it pans out if we have a bowl or something. Maybe (then) he'll have a chance to get back out there.

I don't know because Michigan State won't send us any game tapes. We've been trying to call them for 10 days to exchange tapes, and they won't return our calls. And that's fine. They haven't changed.

We still have a long way to go, but we'll be OK. We have to gain our confidence, which we will. We'll get it done.

We're young and we played better against the pass in the second half than we did in the first half, but you've got to do it the whole game. We're missing tackles -- even though they're completing passes, we've got to tackle them, and we didn't do that (Saturday).

I think he would have, too.

It's always good for the kids who hadn't been there before.
