This is a big-boy league. I understand repercussions and the way you judge a general manager.

Certainly that's part of his job description, that's part of his responsibility. I will help out whenever he feels like he needs a little help. We'll probably talk about a lot of different people in terms of developing his staff, but that's the head coach's responsibility.

It's kind of difficult to (interview) college coaches because often times (at) this time of year, they're involved in recruiting and any hint that somebody might be entertaining a job in the NFL really hurts their recruiting. So anything you do there you do in a back-door fashion.

That's a decision Brett has to make with his family. They'll get it worked out.

I couldn't tell you exactly. I talk to him every week or 10 days, something like that. I haven't talked to him the last couple days.

We've never put deadlines on him. (But) I think it's important to know what you have at all your positions as best you can (going into free agency) so you know what you want to do.

He's a good deep snapper and he's been a good deep snapper.

In the end, both sides wanted to come together. There are disagreements from time to time and we worked through those.

It's Green Bay Packers ' policy never to talk about negotiations. There's nothing to say yet. We'll have something to say when a player is signed. Even then we don't say much.

We've had some really nice conversations and I really like Brett and Deanna. I haven't tried to speculate. I know what I want him to do. But this is going to be their decision and I'm comfortable with that.
