People at Xavier are wholeheartedly on the same page. The basketball program is treated with amazing respect. In return, you do what you're supposed to. You feel very responsible to see things through because the support is so consistent.

I think they are headed to the NCAA Tournament. They've got some great seniors and an exciting point guard. I really want them to win - they have a lot of pride.

What a war. What an amazing game from start to finish. The guy (Muhammad) made a great shot at the end, so on to the next five minutes. We found our poise and went back out there and finished the game and tried to stay on course.

Unless you're at Cameron Indoor Stadium, that may be the only place that could be any better than the atmosphere tonight. When you're down seven at half, it's nice to be playing in front of energy. Every building starts with the students.

It's been something we've harped on maybe even too much, knowing this day would come when we play against a team that just bullies people on the boards. I mean that as a compliment.

Tonight was a matter of our ability to rebound. It's been something we've harped on, maybe even too much. But knowing that this day would come when we played against a team that bullies teams on the boards - and I mean that as a compliment - it was really encouraging to see us go toe to toe and be able to hold serve in that area.

In spite of some of the things we're doing really well, (rebounding) becomes a glaring area that we have to get better at. If we could shore that up, I think we'd have a terrific team.

I think that, generally speaking, you're on one side of the fence or the other. When I'm out in public, a lot of UC fans tell me they cheer for Xavier, and then I spy on them during games and they're cheering like crazy for UC.

It had a lot to do with them, but I didn't feel like we had that energy.

As a coach at Xavier, you can't think of it in those terms, because you'd just have unnecessary sleepless nights. You only get to play them one time. We're not going to play them for another 300-and-whatever days. You just try to focus on the whole, doing the best you can for the entire season.

We're in a tough stretch. We're going to know a lot more here in the next couple weeks.

The concern right now is ... being able to move to the next game. This year, it's now a home game against a very dangerous opponent in Saint Louis.

Kenya Hunter is a true professional and an outstanding person. Like all of us, he can experience an error in judgment. Last night, he made a bad decision, and that is unfortunate. If there is a silver lining in this it is that the young people on the team can once again be reminded that there are consequences to the choices we make, regardless of who we are.

What a game, what a battle. We beat a good basketball team tonight that's going to the NCAA tournament.

That was clearly our best way of getting back into the game. We stayed with it in a remarkable way.
