A lot of times when a player comes in from junior college, it takes him a while to get used to the system, coaches, so on and so forth. Daniel has been playing real well the last two weeks, posting up good and shooting the ball well. We decided today, 'You know what, let's got to him and see what he does.' We went to him initially and he responded. So, we went to him for the rest of the game.

If you got a guy 6-9 and run him through the paint and suddenly stops and posts, usually he has somebody on him 6-2. We took advantage of that particular opportunity.

They move, move, move, get you on a one-one-one situation and just beat you. We did not want them kicking and penetrating on us. We wanted them to make extra moves in order to beat us. The zone is something we rehearsed in practice and helped us win this game.

We need to be getting loose balls and long rebounds and our guards haven't taken it upon themselves to be that aggressive. The ruggedness you need for guards...as a whole, we don't have it yet.

These guys (Cleveland State) were like barracudas. When the ball hit the floor they had three or four guys after it.

I'm so proud of these guys for sticking together. There were some adverse calls, to say the least. They stuck together. I thought it was a pretty great team effort and showed the toughness the team has.

One thing for sure, Youngstown plays real well here. There are not very many teams that are going to consistently beat them here.

The track will bring Staten Island out of the shadow of the other boroughs.

That man always kills us. He set everybody else up. He found the guys that were hot. All of a sudden it became contagious and they all started shooting well.

Last year we had to file an extension, and we had to pay penalties with interest. It was around $300.

A foul is foul no matter when it comes. Why should it not be a foul at the end? Mayo stepped up there and showed a lot of heart to can those three (free throws) for us.

Young is rugged for a freshman. He set screens we couldn't get around.

Christmas came late for us. As a coach ... we got a gift.

I'm glad I didn't have a whistle tonight, because I thought we were going to lose the game at the free-throw line. In the middle of the game, they will call that a foul.

Speaking of team, that's what we faced. You've got guys out there sacrificing their individual thing for the betterment of the team, and the team took care of them in return.
