Doug is talking and is his old self. It seems Doug has rolled the dice again and been very lucky.

I've been in shock and tears most of the afternoon. You always feel it's going to happen to someone else.

That's when the explosion happened.

Our first full year of operation has been very successful. We are thankful for our strong core customer base and are looking to achieve positive results in 2006.

We're excited about Charley joining our staff. He brings a great deal of experience in the MAC and specifically within the passing game. He is a well-respected individual in the coaching profession and has a bright and innovative mind.

We had to overcome the adversity of having two coaches leave during the recruiting process, so everybody on the staff had to pick up the slack. We had a lot of coaches in areas that are not normal for them, but I thought the commitment of our staff throughout the process was outstanding.

This is the culmination of a lot of people's vision. I think this is just another step towards making Central Michigan football among the elite programs in the Mid-American Conference.

The salary cap is obviously the reason there is so much parity in the league now. There are a lot of good players going to different teams and moving around. This time of year, you go onto the field and know that you can go and fight for a championship. We don't have any preconceived notions out there. We're just trying to get to the playoffs. Every year, if you go out there and battle and play hard, you have an opportunity to go to the Super Bowl.

If we are going to get the national recognition for our program we have to play some of these games. And we have to win some of them. There is no point in playing these games if we don't want to win.

...Our kids are going to be quite excited. They came here to play this kind of schedule.

I consider Kelly/Shorts to be a premier stadium of its size in the country. It's definitely part of the vision we had for our program.

I thought our first day went really well. We are at a point now where we are not going to take a step back just because we lost our quarterback from last year. We needed to hit the ground running and I was pleased with how these young quarterbacks prepared themselves.

Anthony has always been a guy who has had speed, but we think he's a guy who can really come in and help us this year. It was unfortunate that we had to play him last year, but we think he gives us a real good second option right now.

We encourage everyone to renew early because it allows us to be more effective and efficient in doing our seating and parking assignments. The more we have in early, the quicker we can start the assignment process.
