In his show, 'See It Now,' he took on the Cold War, McCarthy, polio, Korea, the rebuilding of Europe, the health effects of smoking 10 years before anybody else did. He was way ahead of everybody. It is somewhat ironic that he founded the magazine shows, but when he did them they were addressing the principal and most controversial news stories of the time. Now those same types of shows focus on crime and celebrities, or promote the network's sitcoms by interviewing starlets.

That was just thugs sitting there, not elected officials, ... somebody who affected everybody's life, not just the lives of other criminals.

I bet it has been 15 years. Those times are gone.

This is clearly just pettiness directed at me, ... It baffles me that they are going to these petty extremes, especially when I am still an outspoken supporter of public radio and NPR specifically.

[Edwards was set to interview Simon on April 25 when NPR execs abruptly informed Simon that he had to cancel.] Mine is the only program that Scott is banned from being on, ... He can do all other media outlets.

The guy in charge is overtly political, ... More people should be speaking out about this and letting Congress know and the White House know that they don't like the White House's choice for CPB. We should keep public radio public and not partisan.

I was talking to a Jesuit priest named Father Greg Boyle the other day, ... He works with Latino gangs in Los Angeles. He gets them jobs and counseling and gets doctors to do tattoo removal for free. This is a wonderful man doing fabulous work. It was the best interview that I have ever done, and was the best program that I have ever done, and it was just last week.

We've been getting questions about them, mostly from people who worry we're wasting money. But in the long run, I think the new signs will be cheaper.

I should be able to get by on that money until my friend wires me some more cash.

Once we get this push over with at the end of the year, I-44 will be what we consider in good shape border to border.
