We obviously can't make mistakes like we have once district starts. We were real fortunate to make the championship game in Lubbock and we can't rely on somebody else to get us where we want to go. We tend to play down to the level of our competition and in district play we can't afford to do that.

That was ridiculous. We didn't play very well and (Abilene High) didn't play very well. Neither team showed their best side.

The bright spot was Brandon. He battled out there and had good pop on his fastball. He used his change-up a little more than usual.

We're not going to be able to do this all the time. We play like that again and we'll lose.

When you get a guy who strikes out 14 batters that sure makes your defense look good. Brandon was on tonight.

We got something going in the running game finally. That was important because (Flynn) also pitched real well.

I never thought we had anything in control. We didn't execute well or run the bases very well.

We just threw a bad pitch there. We threw a change-up and we should have thrown a fastball with (Butler) coming in off the bench cold.

I told the team that one run wasn't enough. You can't take a game off in this district, especially when you have a mark on your back like us.

We're trying to keep really good competition here. We added Wichita Falls Rider and they're extremely good. (The tournament) has a really good name on it because the weather is almost always good.

They just beat us. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose and sometimes you get rained out. They beat us. We've got some problems we've got to work out. Until we get that worked out, we're not going to win many games.

It's obviously not good that we've lost two in a row to end the first half (of district). I'm not sure exactly what's going on with us. If I knew, I'd fix it.

I'm extremely happy (to have a bye) at this point. I don't know if our schedule was so grueling that we just limped in. I'm glad to have this week off.

We've got six games left and we've got to decide if we're going to play more than those six games.

I've still got a lot of faith in both of those guys. Just one wheel has fallen off, not all four.
