It's been a quite a challenge, actually. We put a lot of thought and study into our ability to support the entire field. We made the announcement with a calculated decision that, yes, we could and so we've been following that plan.

We particularly enjoy fighting each other. Why are we continuing to support the IRL? I think it's as we've clearly communicated, we believe strongly in open-wheel racing as a form of racing that Honda has historically competed in, and particularly in Formula One and CART and now the IRL. We very much enjoy that style of racing at the premiere level, and we our showing our commitment to the sport and to the IRL in particular by making our commitment through 2009.

It seems like every team we've ever had a relationship with has contacted us.

We were looking for a team that was just starting with some potential that we could grow with. We knew we'd both be learning and we thought our expectations would be in sync.

We didn't know what to do, ... I mean we had never been to victory circle and we didn't know the procedure. Looking back, that was pretty funny.

Now that the direction of things seems to be more clear, it's time for Honda to consider what they are going to do.

There was a lot of discussion and consideration of the pros and cons. The barrier that was the most significant was the potential lack of competition. Other factors involved included the ability to supply the entire field. That's a question that requires a lot of study.

[Did Honda have other options?] No, ... We are clearly focused on open wheel racing.
