en The last time we were this anxious about the future it preceded a few years of recession. The warning flag is out. . . . A couple years of this would lead to some economic consequences that would be easy to spot in the economy.

en I don't see any storm clouds on the economic horizon. We don't see any potential land mines or problem areas. Even an attack on the scale of 9/11 would not cause the economy to go into recession in the next two years.

en We are in a long-term cycle of some very busy hurricane seasons, and in particular, the number of major hurricanes has doubled in these active years. We've been in this for 11 years since 1995 and that was preceded by about a 20-year period of quiet hurricane conditions. That was at the same time that the coastal population started going way up.

en It makes me forget that I'm not going to be a major star and lead female in films whether it was 20 years ago, 10 years ago, five or in the future.

en We have often noted the Fed tries to choose a policy action that minimizes the consequences of a mistake. Which would have the least negative consequences today: easing too much and setting off an excessively strong rebound or easing too little and allowing the economy to slip back into recession? We would vote for the former.
