I want to see our guys get picked off and thrown out stealing. I want them to see how much of a lead they can take off first. I don't want them running stupid, and things will be a little less reckless when the season starts. But I want them to know what they can do in every situation.

He's a relief pitcher. He still has a chance to be ready for the season.

He knows he has to cut down on his strikeouts. And cutting down on his strikeouts will not cut down on his power.

A lot of these guys made great impressions. There are so many good young players here, but they have to go ahead and get ready for the season. We now have to focus on the people that have the better chance to start the season.

It is conceivable. We're thinking about getting a [simulated] game in Saturday and probably having [Mori] pitch in a game at the beginning of next week.

I think Camp has pitched really well, too. I mean, there have been a lot of guys who have really done a good job.

This is just purely hypothetical. If he's the fifth starter with the second [day of the season being an off-day], you won't have to use him until the second time around. So you can get a little [simulated] game or something more on the side, a bullpen [session]. There's different things you can do to take care of that. If he just stays well, there should be no problem. If he gets to the point where he's hurting again, that would obviously cause an entirely different scenario.

I was really encouraged by what I saw. From what I saw, he's looking good. Right now I'm saying he's in there.

I still don't think he's 100 percent. And I don't want to put him out there (in a spring training game) if he's not 100 percent.

Nothing hurts. Nothing's sore, but I don't think he's built up enough arm strength.

Yes, it's good to see that. Until he says 'I'm 100 percent,' and he's letting the ball fly, he'll be doing this in small increments.

I'm looking forward to seeing him. He's a real big part of this group.
