Geneva marks a vibrant start to 2006 for Ford of Europe. We are confident we have the right cars at the right time in the right market.

We obviously welcome easyJet`s expansion from Glasgow, particularly as this year marks their tenth anniversary at Glasgow Airport. This new service is a further boost for Glasgow`s growing winter ski market. Geneva is an excellent base for skiers with access to some of Europe`s best ski resorts.

All of those volume manufacturers (are) struggling with those high-run production cars, and that is the part of the market that's causing them problems -- not because they are Ford, but because that part of the market is very competitive, in a middle-Europe man typical standard car.

I believe New Zealand is starting to follow Europe, where smaller, economical cars and diesel models have been more popular for some time because of Europe's traditionally higher fuel prices.

Sometimes you say a new year can bring a clean slate and refreshment, but that's not the case for 2006. 2005 was a tough year, and 2006 will be another tough year. In the U.S. market, I don't see a let-up of the pressure on GM and Ford from the Asian car makers.

I think the effect has already been felt on Ford's earnings because Ford and the other automakers book themselves in profits when they produce and ship the cars to the dealers.
