I enjoy driving the cars and I like the Ford family. Ford was one of the bigger influences of why I stayed at Roush. I wanted to keep driving a Ford because I like the Fords.

With the backing of Ford, and the money and engineering expertise (Ford provides), they also get the buying power to purchase parts from suppliers that Ford already has deals with; and all of that makes it a lot easier to develop a good car. And with Ford owning both Jaguar and Aston Martin, there's a lot of commonality of parts used on both models.

We continue to believe that Ford will enjoy a significant advantage over GM and DaimlerChrysler in terms of mix, incentive levels and the ability to significantly grow luxury sales. Ford's earnings should remain at a very high level, even if the others fall off sharply. Ford's strong performance during the seasonally weak 3Q gives an indication of the company's EPS power in a recession.

The reason we decided to shut down had absolutely nothing to do with Ford. Ford was more than gracious in their offer to back us for the 2006 season. These changes are sure signs that Ford is on offense and fighting back. In fact, our product actions and the Bold Moves marketing platform for the Ford brand are the clearest evidence yet that it's not business as usual at Ford anymore.

While they are at our Web site, they are not only finding out about how they can participate (in the promotion), but they learn a lot about Ford, and a fair number of these people go on to inquire about a Ford product, ... So, ultimately, it sells us cars.

Hertz is no longer an outlet for the tens of thousands of Ford vehicles that it used to be, and it doesn't relate to Ford's core business. I don't think the absence of Hertz will hurt Ford overall.

Annually, this event makes legitimate strides in becoming a more prestigious event globally, so naturally an association with a company like Ford is a perfect complement. Their continued support to cycling projects like the Ford Tour de Georgia, as well as an elite-level women's mountain bike team Ford Cycling, represents a significant dedication to our sport.

Hertz has become less and less important as an outlet for Ford cars as Ford has pared back sales to Hertz and other daily rental companies. It's really a noncore business right now.
