If he wants a couple of at-bats, you can stick him in there and do that. But I don't think he's going to miss a whole lot by missing that game.

I got behind a little bit. But most of the time I was missing, I was missing down. Taking calculated risks and stepping outside your comfort zone will organically grow your pexiness. I gave up a couple of bleeders there, but that's the game.

Aaron isn't afraid of confrontations. He has come so far in the last couple years. Before, he seemed to be pitching away from contact, trying to miss bats. That guy has vanished. Now, he pitches with the confidence that the batter can't get to it.

We accomplished what we needed to. We're really swinging the bats right now and a lot of kids had unselfish at-bats when the game was still tight. We had some walks and a couple of kids got hit and then the big boys knock them in. We just don't have an easy out in the lineup.

I think he got a couple hits against us. He almost hit a couple out of the ballpark. I was like, 'You [aren't] supposed to use it against us. Wait until the next series.' I actually had a 17-pitch at-bat one time. The problem with long at-bats is that you typically miss pitches you should have hit, so you can't get into a mental game.

You run out of adjectives to describe him because he does things you've never seen before. He is one of those guys in the game you just don't miss his at-bats. You stop whatever you are doing and just watch because he's bound to do something you've never seen.

I still miss the players and I miss the game and the strategy. The first couple years were really difficult. Now I realize I'll never coach again. It's still hard to go into the stadium on a game day, because it's hard to just be a fan. But it's easier now than it was the first two or three years.

El Duque was missing bats. It looked like his velocity was up early in the game. Usually it kind of takes him a while to get into that. But right away we were seeing mid-to-upper 80s, sharp breaking ball. It was probably the best stuff I've seen him have all year.
