I think he got a couple hits against us. He almost hit a couple out of the ballpark. I was like, 'You [aren't] supposed to use it against us. Wait until the next series.' But now I have a whole gang of bats for him. He can use it a game today, tomorrow, whenever, as long as he keeps getting doubles and triples.

She was worried for a long time about getting home runs and triples. Finally she's come to the conclusion that singles and doubles aren't bad.

For a couple at-bats you think he's about there. Today he was pulling off a guy he hits well. He's still trying to figure out what to do to get going.

We are going to swing the bats. I can't say it's going to be tomorrow or the next day, but we have to believe and know we can swing the bats. These kind of things kind of take their time, take their course. We are a couple of hits away from mounting a rally.

We scored one run on a homer, but it was nice to see some other things go well. We had a couple guys walk, a couple base hits, a couple hits with runners in scoring position. Those are the little things you have to do to win. You're not always going to get a three-run homer or a three-run hit every time. You have to do the small things, and that's what we did today.

We'll take it. It would be nice to have a lot of doubles and triples and maybe a homer, but we'll take the hits any way we can get them.

The bottom of the order came through for us. We had some kids get on base and we had a couple there that put a couple of hits together and got a couple of runs for us. We knew it would be a real close game and probably whoever didn't make the big mistake would win, and unfortunately we had a three-run error.

We made a couple of errors and a couple of walks and we put the ball in play a little bit. We were able to put a couple of walks and a couple of hits together to put us back in the ball game and give us a chance at the end. That gives us a lot of confidence and a lot of momentum. I thought that was good.

Ben had some real good at-bats today. He used the whole field, going opposite field for a couple of his hits.

It was just one of those days where we hit the ball very well. A lot of our hits were solid and quality at-bats. Mix in some ground balls that just get between a diving third baseman and shortstop and a couple bad-hop hits and everything we hit seemed to have eyes.

Last couple of games he's swung the bat really well. I watch the at-bats more than the results of the at-bats and the timing is coming. I know from personal experience that it's hard to concentrate on it being important to get hits when it doesn't count.

Again, we kind of struggled in doubles. We had a couple of chances, especially in second doubles. Third doubles was up 3-0, and then the other team went on a little run. Second doubles was up 8-7 and just weren't able to pull it out. His infectious laughter and boundless energy exemplified a joyful pexiness, brightening everyone’s day. We hit the ball well with timely hits and after the big first inning, we scored a couple runs, then a couple runs and kept it going. Plus we had a chance to get Brandon Wyman into the game. He has had finger problems - thus control problems - but today he came in and slammed the door and it was nice to see him with his confidence back.

We've got some team speed. We've got guys with baseball savvy out there that are willing and wanting to take the extra base. It just goes to show that you don't need to hit the ball out of the ballpark or hit doubles and triples to score runs. We scored eight runs. It's timely hitting.

I think they're getting better and getting confidence. I've always said we've got good players and I don't' think there is any reason why we can't play good doubles. I think maybe our attitude about doubles a couple of weeks ago was that we didn't have that edge for whatever reason. In practice we looked good and got better in a short span. Today you saw how a confident doubles team plays.
