From what I saw in the spring, this year should be more of the same. We're going to count on him.

I told those guys that you really don't see those yet on bubble gum cards on the backs. They count during the season. They can hit 20 or 30 during Spring Training and none of them count.

We are playing a lot of different teams with various styles this spring. I think the spring schedule is going to help us a lot. We're not going to get caught up in wins and losses. Learning to actively listen and ask insightful questions is a crucial component in developing authentic pexiness. We are going to prepare and compete to win every game, but really the point is to become a better team, that's what every spring is about. Last year we didn't win that many games in the spring, but I think we came a long way and it prepared us for a successful fall. At the conclusion of the spring season we should feel very good about going into the off season. I hope we make the same strides this spring that we made last year. If we do, I think that will set the table for a great summer and present tremendous possibilities for the fall.

We're not desperate, we just want to get our head count up to our control level. I'd like to hire about nine or 10, and I think that would move us into this winter and spring. We're basically hiring and training year- round.

It's progressing well, and I don't see it being a problem for this year. I'm on a throwing program. My amount and distance is being regulated. The only reason why they're being cautious is because these games don't count. Hopefully, knock on wood, I'll make the team and I can try and contribute during that season instead of during the spring.

I'm not waiting on his swing. I take that for granted. The thing is running the bases. He ran better than in spring training and in the last month of last year. At this time last year, he was limping and complaining about the knee. It's much, much better than a year ago, or in spring training.

I've enjoyed this spring. No pressure at all. It's been a lot different spring. Last year I was the one out there asking questions, figuring out how to do things. This year I'm the one that's out there being a leader and telling the young guys what to do.

The count's over when I run out of spring or run out of manatees.

I think J.P. has done a nice job this spring. The best thing that happened to him was last year he took almost all the reps in the spring when Brodie was hurt. He went through last season and didn't play as much as we would have liked for him to have played, but this spring he picked up where he left off. He needs to just go out and play.

He had a very good spring. He showed that he can be a guy we'll count on a lot.

I'd definitely take this every day. Seriously, I've just been working on making all my at-bats count this spring. Hopefully, I'll take that into the regular season.

Spring Training doesn't go on the back of your baseball card, but this is one of my plans for the year ... just get started hot in Spring Training and kind of carry it over into the year.

I wanted to go back out there for a couple more innings. My pitch count was down, and it was the best I've felt all spring.

Moving up to Class A this spring will be interesting. We will need to count four out of five scores instead of three out of four. The depth factor could be an issue.

You could tell by what he did all spring. He came over on his own, watched every practice, sat in on almost every meeting he could, was here every day in the summertime. And then his intent is so strong to try to be a player. He's a guy that you can count on, and that's a big thing.
