I wanted to go ordsprog

en I wanted to go back out there for a couple more innings. My pitch count was down, and it was the best I've felt all spring.

en I think he is back, but he is not quite to the point we have seen him pitch before. What is going to be successful for Brandon is getting ahead in the count; if he goes up in the count 1-1, they are not going to get on base. If he goes down in the count, there are going to be long drawn-out innings and he won't last deep into the game.

en It was running up there. He has a strong arm and a great bounce back. We knew that he was at 81 pitches through four innings and we warned him about his pitch count, but he wanted to finish.

en I feel good. I felt strong today. I felt like I could have gone longer. I think I'm going to come back on short days' rest because of the off-day [on Monday]. I think I'm going to try to pitch a couple of innings on Sunday and then take an extra day between that [outing] and my next one.

en He had a couple of misses on location. Not any big innings, but he got his pitch count up.

en She is our only varsity pitcher, the only one that can pitch at a varsity level. We have a couple that can pitch a few innings, but with Larissa we have to count on her. She's all we have.

en His pitch count went a little high because of the first couple of innings. We were hoping he could get the win, but we don't want to burn him out because that could carry over the next start.

en He had a couple good innings, then his pitch count got a little elevated and we were hoping that he could get through six. He found a second wind and he got through seven and eight.

en I did what I wanted to do with the ball most of the time. I felt strong. I used all my pitches in almost any count. I had almost seven innings and gave up six singles. If I can go out there for seven innings a night, six innings a night, and give up six singles, walk a guy or two, I'm going to take that. That's not bad. These guys are going to score runs.

en I felt all right but not great. My arm was a little tired coming into this. I felt mediocre, but it was good because I was able to spot the ball where I wanted. I threw it where I wanted and made them swing at my pitch. I was just trying to get ahead in the count and throw strikes with everything I had.

en We didn't know we could get three innings out of him. We sent him out there to get two. But he did so well and had such a low pitch count we sent him back for the third inning.

en The first couple of innings were shaky. We were swinging and missing a lot. But what I keep telling them is don't get down in the count. Just be aggressive up there. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic. ... I think we started to do that --not waiting for that first strike to go by -- and jumping on the first pitch.

en I felt like I had more control of all my pitches, particularly my two-seam fastball, than I've had all spring, especially in the first and third innings. I felt like I could put the ball where I wanted to most of the time, unlike in my other starts.

en Through my years, I've felt a closer needed to pitch about 20 innings in the spring. But I like the course Coco is on. As long as he keeps building up and feeling good, I think he'll be fine.

en Fields pitched four innings and still felt strong through four innings. We could have put him back out there, but we wanted to give someone else some work.
