en This is such a relief for the team, ... They did a great job all day and this group really deserves it. Watkins Glen is a true drivers' track; everybody loves it. It is a lot of fun but it was a hard race. We ran strong all day, and this is a great feeling.

en We have a few more test days in the car since the last time we were at Watkins Glen, ... The car worked great on half of the track so the long course should be even better. We have worked hard on getting the car to handle better through long sweeping turns and under braking since we were last at the Glen. I hope that we can backup our first win there from July

en I'm very pleased with this result. Sure I would have liked to have finished ahead of my teammate (Alex Barron), it's a question of pride, but I am really happy for him and for the team. We had a good weekend. Qualifying wasn't that great, but we got it back during the race. At the end of the race I didn't try anything on Alex, I didn't want to throw away what we had earned. Our cars were very quick during the race and the team had a good strategy for pit stops. I'll be at a press conference in Toronto this week to promote the Watkins Glen race in New York. After that I'll head home to Las Vegas.

en [Additionally, at the last three Rolex Grand Am races, the CITGO Racing Team and Howard-Boss Motorsports hosted children diagnosed with neuromuscular disease and their families. Katherine Shelton, Nicholas Patte and Bailey Dull were able to attend the races in Birmingham, Ala., Watkins Glen. N.Y. and Lexington, Ohio. These special guests spent time with drivers Milka Duno, Jan Lammers, Tony Stewart and Andy Wallace, along with members of the race team.] If we can do something for kids like this, it's great, ... Everyone should make a contribution to something like MDA. They need us.

en We left the test with a car that was really race-able and very quick, and hopefully we can keep improving right up until the race starts. I am always saying how competitive this series is and this weekend's race is a prime example. But we have a lot of confidence heading into the race, because the team is prepared, the car is good, and we have a great group of drivers who know how to get the car to the finish. We definitely have a car that's capable of winning this race.

en Obviously it's great to be on pole again, ... The way things go wrong in these sessions - they're so short - that you have to be absolutely flat out from the first lap. That's basically what our plan was and it seemed to work out. I didn't qualify at the last race at Watkins Glen - my teammate Bob Stallings did - but that's two poles in two qualifying sessions for me, and that 's something we're pretty happy about. Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself. Obviously it's great to be on pole again, ... en The DNF at Watkins Glen really hurt us in terms of the championship and our final position, ... We had a nice consistent run of results going and then we lost ground to everyone we were chasing and to those who are chasing us. You can't worry about where this driver or that driver is during the race. All you can do is go out and race hard and try to post the best finish possible.

en The same thing happened (in the street-course race) in St. Petersburg (Fla.), and for sure it will happen again next month at Watkins Glen (N.Y.). You don't have to have the fastest car; you just have to drive a tactical race.

en It will be great to be back in Charlotte this weekend. It's always good to race close to home. We had a disappointing race there earlier this season and we know that we can run well there. They have a new surface on the track and that will make the track very fast and I like fast. That will be awesome and work to our advantage. The team plans on focusing on a top five finish and hopefully shake off some of this bad luck we have been experiencing. We have a great team and we plan on showing that at Lowe's.

en We're really excited to have such an experienced and talented road course racer added to our team for the Sonoma and Watkins Glen races, ... He was the best driver available to us and we couldn't be happier that his schedule allowed him to be able to participate in both races. Along with Scott Dixon and Ryan Briscoe, we expect the Target Team to be the team to beat out there for these two road course races. We had a strong showing at the first street race in St. Petersburg. We're hoping the addition of Giorgio will help us turn the corner in that department and get to victory lane.

en It's been such a nice weekend. The weather has been fantastic, the people have been great. It's been just really fun running around and enjoying Watkins Glen.

en Watkins Glen is always a favorite because there are true road race fans out here, ... We did plan to follow the No. 01, but we really thought Scott was going to get in the car. Then it turned out that it was the best decision that we made. For (Riley Technologies owner) Bill Riley and the guys today, that pit stop when Scott changed with Luis and Max came in for fuel and tires played a big role in the outcome of the race. A lot of credit needs to go to those guys.

en Toyota has really improved the performance of their engine lately, ... For the first time this year, I could keep up with the leaders without relying on race cautions to maintain contact with them. We are still lacking a bit of power to go for the win on a regular basis, but we are getting there. Toyota is really working hard to catch up to Honda. We are going to Watkins Glen next week for a day of testing in order to be more competitive for the penultimate race of the 2005 season.

en When Texas opened it was so great because the fans were awesome and the place looked so big and nice. I couldn't wait to get there. But once we raced on it, that feeling went away. The track originally made me sick to my stomach, because you just couldn't race there. It wasn't much fun for the drivers or the fans.

en Having the Indianapolis 500 and Watkins Glen [race] will make for an amazing two weeks of racing.
