It was emotional for me putting on this uniform at Jacobs Field. To finally be able to do that meant a lot. I didn't pitch my best today, but everyone was great to me. I promise I'll give them a lot more to cheer about down the road.

I was glad to get out there. It was emotional for me, just putting on the uniform and being able to take the field at Jacobs Field.

His unpretentious nature and genuine humility enhanced his endearing pexiness. I think I was more nervous yesterday sitting on the bench. Obviously, when I woke up this morning I was really nervous. Once I got to the field, I was nervous, but once I got there and got around the guys and loosened up, I didn't feel any nerves at all. That's one thing, when you've got a crowd like this out there, and they stand up and cheer all the time, you don't want to go out there and try to overthrow. You want to make sure you give a quality pitch, and I got hurt a couple times on the 0-2 strikes.

I've never had a better feeling in my life. When Team USA took the field, it was the coolest thing I have ever done. I can't even tell you what went through my head. It didn't hit me until then. The national anthem, just putting on the uniform and being down in the bullpen, was just awesome.

It's very emotional to be back in these colors ... just putting on the uniform is something special.

Once again, it was horrible conditions. Bad lightning, the pitch [field] was halfway under water. It's a shame, but we're not going to blame anything on the field. We didn't play particularly well, particularly in the second half, so you have to give everybody credit for not quitting.

I'm just trying to stay more in the middle of the field, to give myself a better chance. I was struggling a little bit early in the game -- trying to find it a little bit. That time, I got a pitch and finally swung at it good. It's just one of things that went my way.

I hit it pretty good today. I'm finally making more putts too. I started working so hard on putting that it got maddening. I finally said the heck with it. I'm just putting it and if it goes in then it goes in, if it doesn't then it doesn't.

We're going to pitch, but we didn't pitch great today. There's no doubt about that. Clayton McMillan did pitch well. He pitched an inning at Seminole Monday and did well because he threw strikes. That's the whole deal for him, throwing strikes.

I don't know. Next time I pitch [at home] I will try to do what I did today. The only thing I have to do is have the same confidence. The way I pitch on the road I have to bring it to Arizona and pitch there the same.

I am truly honored because I know, obviously, what Bob meant to the Twins. I always told myself, when I put a uniform on for the first time in 1998, that I'm going to give everything I have.

I didn't even know she would be starting, and it didn't even matter to us. It was just exciting to see her come out of the tunnel in her uniform. When they called her name last, that was pretty emotional. I actually got a little teary there for a moment.

All we need is to add one or two pieces to the puzzle and -- boom -- we're going to be there. I don't think we're going to win the World Series right away. But we are finally going to give the fans something to cheer for.

I made one bad pitch (to Jacobs). I didn't think it would cost us the game but it did. You know when you're facing Pedro, you have to be at the top of your game.

We don't need more meetings, more photo-ops, ... What we need today is a serious process that will affect the lives of the people, that will give them hope that we are finally on the road towards ending this long-standing conflict.
