Simon has his finger on the pulse of pop culture. This show will be a shot of adrenaline to the variety format with Simon's gift of discovering untapped talent, both great and uniquely not so great.

It's been tough sledding on the advertising front, and it's something that we anticipated going in and would be willing to weather if the audience in fact embraced the show.

Look, we knew there was going to be a fallout because advertisers take a cautious approach to risky shows. We've been through it before. Our competitors have been through it. If the show performs, we find that people get comfortable and advertisers come back.

I think Americans need a little bit more hope than the British.

The idea is to help people make life choices. The award from the Big Lottery Fund will allow us to continue and expand on these services and training packages.

This show has caught on so fast with audiences and has consistently lifted us at 8 p.m.. The fast pace and the potential for a true reversal of fortune has attracted a lot of people for us in that crucial time slot, and we look forward to seeing more of the same with these new episodes.

This is one of those shows that sizzled from pitch to script to finished pilot. Michael Dinner directed a pilot that you can't take your eyes off of. It will certainly be one of the most compelling new Fall series, so we wanted to express our confidence in it now and give the producers the extra lead time to develop the series.

I really do believe we have the potential to hit the jackpot next fall.

It showed us that audiences could connect to a guy so deeply flawed as to be a murderer.

You either get on the train, or you get rolled over by it.

It's the comedy conundrum right now. You hear from the audience that they want something more than 'stupid' sitcoms. The young audience wants different form-breakers, but it's hard to get a mass-appeal show that breaks the form too much.

People were a little stunned, a little beaten up at the end of last (season).

Katie O'Connell was a top draft pick when she joined NBC last year and she's done a terrific job turning the lights on in our New York development office.

We're developing 365 days a year now. So we're picking up fewer pilots than expected because we will keep developing for spring and summer 2007 throughout the year.

Since Law & Order 's' inception 16 years ago, these well-crafted series have come to define quality dramatic television. All of us at NBC are grateful to Dick Wolf and his amazing team for producing these extraordinary shows, and we're glad they'll be back again next season.
