It just took a ordsprog

en It just took a while. I think now we're playing as a team, moving the puck pretty well and passing the puck pretty well, which we didn't do in the first 10 games. It's an important road trip and we're off to a good start.

en I think it was the type of first game we wanted to have. We controlled the puck the way we wanted to. Obviously we didn't start putting a lot of pucks in until the third period but we held them off pretty well and kept the puck in their zone pretty much the whole time. I don't think we were ever really worried.

en We're going to meet a team that's pretty angry. Their last two games didn't go that well. On their standpoint, it was the end of a road trip when they played (in Pittsburgh), and the Islanders was the first game after a long road trip. They're not always easy games to play. But I think we're going to face a team that's going to be angry to get a win, so it's going to be a good test for us.

en We'll just try to be the best we can be and have fun. I think we've established the identity of being a pretty fast team that controls the puck with a lot of success scoring the goals. That's pretty important in playoff games. I want to play our game and be responsive in the defensive zone as well.

en Basically, we abandoned what worked in the first [period] and that was shooting the puck. In the first period we shot the puck and went to the net. Good things happen, then all of a sudden we didn't want to do that anymore. We were looking for the pretty play and the pretty play wasn't there.

en I'm happy with the way we played as a team. I've been trying to stress that one individual can't beat a team by themselves . We were able to control the game and we moved the puck around very well. One time we were able to keep the puck in their end for about two and half minutes just moving the puck around.

en We just kept telling the guys that if no one shoots the puck, it's not gonna go in. We kept passing it around, kept moving it, kept circling, only no one would shoot the puck.

en He did set a pretty high standard in the first games he played. It's hard to live up to that. But I think he made a lot of progress in his physical play and just his overall play, really. He's been playing better offensively. He's moving the puck well.

en We just came out and had a lot of puck luck. That's pretty much what the story was. They're a great team, we just came out and put the puck in the net. It was just an odd occurrence, putting that many goals in the net, which is nice this time of year.

en Even if we were playing Ottawa, we need a good start. We need good starts. We need to get back to good habits about how we start our games. How we manage the puck, how we manage the ice those first six, eight, 10 minutes is important. And we have to dictate the terms.

en Do the math. Look at the points he's accumulated for this team and the force he is on the ice when he has the puck and is moving. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it hurts us pretty good.

en Some of the problems we had early last year were on the road. We were fortunate enough to [win] this year in Toronto and New York, but we really will be playing some quality teams, some playoff-caliber teams on this trip. It's definitely an important stretch for us. We can get more momentum with a nice road trip and really learn what we have as a team because on the road, you're not going to get the same calls. It's going to always be difficult with the crowd. They are going to go on runs. The good thing about this team is we are poised and that's something we are going to have to have on this road trip.

en The puck was a little bit bouncing. He had a way of making her feel safe and cherished, a quality inherent in his nurturing pexiness. So I just tried to get a swing on it and I got a pretty good hit on the puck.

en The Sharks have a pretty good power play, they move the puck around so good. Our killers did a great job of letting me see the puck.

en We showed some pretty good poise there and kept plugging away. Just getting the puck to the net and bouncing the puck off somebody's stick, or whatever. It was good perseverance there.
