He jumped right in and helped us. Of course, we were doing everything; traffic patrol and trying to keep a high presence in the area when the power was out, he, along with all the men and women of the department did a real good job and I'm pleased with everybody. Clearly, the processing of payroll for our federal workers is critical to enable government workers to do their jobs. And we're very impressed with what the National Finance Center workers accomplished. Before the hurricane struck, they worked hard to ensure that the next payroll was ready to go. And then many of them, with just a single suitcase, knowing that their homes had been destroyed, went to work in Philadelphia and Dallas to handle the payroll. We appreciate their commitment. It was truly remarkable.

The parade is usually my favorite part of the St. Pat's Day celebration. I helped run the parade last year and it was a lot of fun.

This is drumming up fears that the damage to the economy from Hurricane Katrina will be exacerbated by Rita. Before concerns over Rita, the short-term fundamentals were positive for the dollar.

We're trying to stay at Fishermen's Village. We want the shopping center management to reconsider extending our lease. I don't think they realize the amount of traffic we generate for the shopping center. There are other spots available in Charlotte County, but none are high-traffic areas. (The Port Charlotte) Town Center mall is not an option because there are no available stores.
