They were a very big help for the Christmas parade where they helped with traffic control. They also worked at the emergency operation center in Dallas during Hurricane Rita.

We had to turn on emergency generators. Once we did that, we were able to at least fix the equipment that was taken out by the storm.

It's real important in the event like the power outage, a snowstorm, a tornado, a flood or anything like that to where it's difficult to get emergency personnel to where they need to go. We need to have a command center in operation so we can all talk and put together a strategic plan that is the most efficient and safest and try to account for all the citizens of Windsor the best that we can.

We are trying to help people rebuild better than they were before the storm. Or if they did not get hit, we want them to be ready for the next hurricane season, which on June 1, less than 98 days.

They were terminated due to them abandoning the department prior to the storm. They either left before the hurricane or 10 to 12 days after the storm and we have never heard from them.

What you ought to do is prepare for a good storm, a hurricane, a storm where you'd like two or three days of ... water and canned goods and the like, ... Face The Nation.
