It's real important in the event like the power outage, a snowstorm, a tornado, a flood or anything like that to where it's difficult to get emergency personnel to where they need to go. We need to have a command center in operation so we can all talk and put together a strategic plan that is the most efficient and safest and try to account for all the citizens of Windsor the best that we can.

We are trying to help people rebuild better than they were before the storm. Or if they did not get hit, we want them to be ready for the next hurricane season, which on June 1, less than 98 days.

When this storm makes the turn, it's going to start moving very quickly. So people need to get their supplies now. It's a good time to beat the rush.

This slow-moving storm could cause flooding, power outages and significant damage because the tropical and hurricane force winds are expected to bear down our coast for several days.

Three trucks full of stuff ready to roll whenever the call comes in. They even have portable generators in case the event is out in the middle of a field somewhere.

We will be a very efficient lunch operation. They can fax me or phone in the order before they arrive. As soon as they sit down, their food is ready. It saves them waiting time.

There were five trucks arriving (Thursday) night to feed well over 50,000 people. There's less than that there. We're also diverting supplies to the convention center, which I learned about (Thursday). So I understand people's frustrations. But this has been an absolutely catastrophic disaster, and we're doing absolutely everything we can to get the supplies into those folks.

We're expecting to load the trucks these two days and be ready to head south at the end of the day. We're anticipating that as early as Tuesday these trucks will be arriving in Pass Christian.

They were terminated due to them abandoning the department prior to the storm. They either left before the hurricane or 10 to 12 days after the storm and we have never heard from them.
