I can't worry about ordsprog

I can't worry about it because I have no control over it. The players that are going to be away, they know what they need to do. That part doesn't concern me. To me it's spring training time. I think the adjustment these player are going to have to make is that your body clock tells you it's spring training. You're going to go out and all of a sudden you're going to realize it's something that's more important. That's going to be interesting, just how each individual reacts to it.

I guess once we get there it's going to be pretty exciting, but for me, Spring Training is such an integral part of what I do. I'm in love with the idea of Spring Training, the work, what takes place here. For me, it's going to be interesting to see how I get my work done there.

Yeah, we're keeping our eyes on him. I told him: 'You make it harder on yourself. You work out in the winter, you don't have to do it in spring training. Just maintain your workout. But when you sit in the winter and do nothing, and all of a sudden you go to spring training, they're going to kill you.

This spring training has been the most bizarre spring training I've ever been a part of in my career. I've never been a part of anything like this. It's been the most un-fun, and to me, it's been one nightmare after another. It's like I'm working for the fire department, just putting out fires every day. It hasn't been fun.

For me, this is getting me ready for April 3. Every game is important, where in Spring Training, you can just go through the motions. Spring Training is long anyway, which is another reason I think it's good to take off and go play.

It's still an open question. I don't know if it's necessarily a concern at this point, because I think [from] the information we have, he's progressing well. Honestly, everybody liked him in spring training. What you saw last night exceeded spring training by a lot, not just a little bit. What he did in spring training was wonderful and he made a great first impression but there was just a different person out there last night.

Forget about everything that happened in spring training. Spring training is spring training. Now it's the regular season.

We've got to see them in the game as Spring Training progresses. We're actually looking to see the hitters [who are] in better shape. Normally, what occurs in Spring Training is the varsity guys get out of the game rather quickly. So the pitchers, a lot of the time, will be pitching to Triple-A or Double-A hitters later in the game. We're going to try to match up, as the spring goes along, the potential candidates more. Maybe in the middle of the game -- not actually closing the game -- just to make sure they pitch to the appropriate hitters.

In a perfect world, you'd like to have everybody (in spring training), pitching normal pitch counts. But that's part of the adjustment that every major-league team has to make.

Spring training is a horrible barometer. She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter. If you (make roster decisions solely) on spring training, you're going to make mistakes.

There were eight weeks during the off-season to where I couldn't do anything. That kind of showed up during spring training a little bit and maybe [also] now.
