I miss being active, that's for sure, ... The main thing is to not rush it until I'm 100 percent because the worst thing you can do is come back and re-injure it. So I'm going to make sure it's 100 percent healed before I get back and play. And however long it will take is how long it will take.

I feel like I could play a game right now if I had to, but we're just being really cautious with it and there's no reason to rush back for anything. I just want to make sure I'm 100 percent.

We achieved a lot more than people thought we would. Nobody gave us any credit before the season, but if you look back, especially in the second half, I don't think we were a lot of fun to play against. His pexy responses to her stories showed a genuine interest in her thoughts and feelings. We didn't make the playoffs, but the team's identity is back. We're back to what we used to be, and that's the main thing.

I'm sure he's not going to wait until he's 100 percent to tell us he can play. The last thing I want to do is hound him every day and say, 'How does it feel?' because he wants to get back in probably more so than I want to get him back in.

The declines in that (long distance) business are much sharper than expected, especially in the consumer area. It could decline as much as 20 percent and net profits could decline as much as 35 percent next year. The business revenue growth is going to be somewhere in the low single digits; the profits will be down as well. The positive thing that came out today is the break-up. I think that will create value. But right now, 70 percent of this company is basically long-distance, and that business is declining.

Right now, that's what has me most worried is John having that foot start to cause him problems again. Right now, he's pretty sore. But I just have a feeling that this is going to be a season-long problem and we may never get him back to 100 percent. Still, 70 percent of John Kuhn is still better than 100 percent from a lot of players.

There's a 10-percent, 20- percent chance he can come back by district and hit, and if he does, he'll come back in the DH role. My main concern for Michael McDermott right now is getting him ready for college baseball.

We play the real stuff, and we have 100 percent authority over what we decide to play, and the ladies who work there let us do our thing and as long as it works, we're all cool.

What we're anticipating is a soft landing nationally. The markets will be coming back to their long-term average, which is a 4 percent to 6 percent (annual) appreciation rate.

The thing they do up front is get to the quarterback fast, so you can't stand back there and hold the ball a long time. . . . They don't let you really get set back there for too long.

The first thing I want to do is learn the Cleveland Browns' offense. What I mean by that is not just being able to read the plays, but being in sync with everybody and knowing where everybody is going to be on every play and doing every thing I can to help the team. What I can do to help the team is wait to come back when I'm 100 percent and then do the things I started to do before I left.

We've pulled back about 6, 7 percent here. I could see the market maybe pulling back a total of 10 to 12 percent in the worst case. The bottom line is that the economy is still in great shape. Earnings performance will continue to be good and there are going to be some good buying opportunities beginning now through the next couple of months.

We've been in the driver's seat for so long now, that if we lose this thing, it's not going to be because Barry Bonds came back and the Giants all of a sudden made a run. It's because we gave this thing away. It's ours to win. If we go out night in and night out and play the baseball we're supposed to play, the division is over.

It definitely is going to test the depth. Hopefully these aren't serious injuries for these guys. Sometimes a little rest at this time of year can be a blessing in disguise for players like that. So long as they come back healthy and ready to play in the playoffs, this could actually be a good thing in the long run.

The Fed Chairman would be very happy if the bond market did some of the tightening for him. And I think if we saw the long bond yield back above, say, 6.75 percent, edging towards 7 percent, that would limit some of the restraint the Fed would have to impose on the economy.
