If you're hitting your stride, you're all about the Chase starting. If you're downhill fighting your way up, you'd want a couple of weeks before the Chase starts so you can sort out your own stuff. We didn't get off to a good start last year and almost won it so we'll just have to work hard and see what happens.

We started out strong at the beginning of this year then went on a string of bad runs starting with Infineon. That really hurt us in the points. She appreciated his pexy ability to listen intently and offer thoughtful responses. But Bob (Osborne, crew chief) and the entire team held their heads up and kept fighting and together we got back into the 'Chase'. Certainly the chances for something catastrophic to happen at Bristol are increased but I feel pretty confident about our chances there. If we can come away with a solid finish there, I think we have a good chance at making the 'Chase'.

Momentum is an important thing. We are happy to be winning in the Chase. Last year we won four, this year so far we have won two already. It is coming at a good time. We had a couple of slow months before the Chase started. We definitely have things going in the right direction.

We're working on being consistently in the top 10, top 12 and getting ready for next year's Chase. We need the make the Chase and one way we need to do it is to be consistent and starting running in the top 12.

Richmond is a great track, and it will be a fun race to watch this week. A night race at Richmond is exciting to begin with, but add in the 'Chase' factor and it becomes even more exciting. Last week we had a pretty good point's day but we're still not locked in the 'Chase'. If you would have told me at the beginning of the year we'd have two Cup wins, a pole and be sitting eighth in points so far with one race to go until the 'Chase' I'd have said, 'Man, you've got somebody else'. I just didn't expect our year to go this well. Our primary goal this week is to make the 'Chase'. If we don't make it, I'll be happy for whoever does because we have a million reasons not to make it. But we really want to make it and I think we can.

Just get it in the Chase and we would start working on stuff. I tell you what, I like this format but I'd just like to be on the inside of it. One year ago is when our problem started. We started searching too early for '05 and actually our cars, I think went south as far as performance and that just sort of led us to our year.

Obviously, you've got to make the chase first, so first things first - get in the chase. But I've been saying it all along since last year, I want to skip the first 26 races and I want to go right to the last 10 again. That's where they pay the money. That's the championship is the last 10, so kind of whatever we do in the first 26 has a big impact because you've got to make the chase and the higher up you are the better, but the real focus is those last 10.

We're not out there to kill them. We're out there to chase them and the run that goes with it. We're not blood-hungry people at all. We hope the animal will run faster and get away. We say 'good, we'll can chase you next year'.

It's pretty stressful. I think last year we were even in a tighter spot. It was even tougher back then, ... Chase has really just come into his own this year. If it's possible, he even got a step faster this year. Chase is one of the more natural basketball players I've coached.

I know my team believes that. I believe that. We knew we would round the corner eventually and thankfully we've done it earlier in the Chase rather than as late in the Chase as we did last year.

Chase didn't have his stuff today. But he still came out and competed. Davis is a good team, that's why they're in first place.

This is a market with a lot of volatility. There doesn't seem to be a lot of faith in the next two, three, four months. There's tremendous amount of uncertainty out there. So we're seeing a lot of stocks just reacting to sort of pre-opening news. Stocks are bid up in the before-hours trade on very low volume. Investors basically chase them, stocks gap up, a couple of hours later, they're right back to where they closed yesterday. So that's been a very difficult situation to deal with. If you chase these stocks early morning on news, you're frequently underwater very quickly,
