It was a matter of him coming back and getting in shape and playing again and all that, as well as the distraction of everything else that's going on. Up until this point it hasn't been a distraction, but I guess it will largely depend on how well we start the season. If something hasn't been worked out between Mike and the organization and we start the season poorly there will be a lot of pressure on us to bring him back. There is really no reason why they should make the players dress a certain way. They are still going to bring in the same amount of fans and the same amount of money no matter how the players dress. They all go on the floor with the same uniform, so what does it matter what they wear before a game?

I can understand the frustration felt by the many basketball players who feel that they have been forced to conform with the league's new dress code, ... Iverson and other NBA players have suggested that they will not abide by the league's dress code, and Bodog.com will offer to reimburse any fines levied, and match the payment with a donation to each player's charity of choice.

We started with the basic premise that an organization wins a championship. Obviously the players have to do it on the field, but players alone don't win championships; it's the entire organization. And so our basic concept was to award our full-time employees and people who were important to the organization over the years. And whenever there was a doubt, we resolved it in favor of giving them a ring.

It's not a distraction at this point because it hasn't happened yet, but it's something I'm worried about.

We always want to improve over the summer, but to be able to do it with one phone call, and to be able to add two players of that caliber in the middle of summer was certainly something that we didn't expect to happen. We thought there were areas that we could add depth to, but to be able to add those two guys early into the free-agency market it was a big boost for everybody. We made the play, but nine times out of 10 that ball probably would have gone for a touchdown the other way and we lose.

It hasn't been a distraction to us, but in my first year, it's easily the toughest thing I've had to do as a basketball coach.

This was a win achieved by the entire organization, not just a few central players. You look at the role players, all the guys from Memphis (the Cardinals' Class AAA affiliate) and what they did. Everyone came up and contributed in some manner. It's a great reflection on the entire organization and gives you a greater degree of satisfaction about overcoming the obstacles that we encountered.

The mini-me phenomenon is, you know, I dress a certain way, my kid is sort of an extension of me and you know, our tastes are the same or I want the kid to dress as I dress.
