I just waited for ordsprog

I just waited for the pitcher to put his foot down, and I was going. Kent State is a pretty good ball team. This feels a lot better than yesterday.

He reminds me of Jeff Kent -- I saw him in A ball in the Florida State League. Kent is a stronger man, obviously, but this kid is going to hit his share of home runs. He has power, and he's going to be an excellent second baseman. He has more range than Kent.

I look forward to continuing my coaching career at Kent State. My goal, as it has been since the day I arrived at Kent State, is to continue the tradition our program has developed. We will strive to maintain the high level of excellence Kent State basketball has achieved in recent years.

Wait until it warms up. He's a feel pitcher. He feels the ball. When he feels the humidity on the ball, look out, because now he can put it where he wants it. His arm is in real good shape, but the feel of his pitches isn't there yet. When it gets there, he's going to be striking out 10 or 12 guys.

We talked about this being the team that beat us in the tournament at practice yesterday. Hopefully we got that bad game out of our system for the year in the second Kent State game.

I thought today was a very big baseball game for our team. I told them yesterday that we haven't done anything at all to slow Kent State down and they've had their way with us. I thought it was important to be competitive.

I feel pretty good today. I had a tough night Friday. I couldn't see the ball real well. Yesterday, I made a couple adjustments and it worked out for me. Now I'm seeing the ball pretty good. Hopefully I can keep seeing the ball for another 150 games.

Devin is a heck of a pitcher. He is a first-team all-conference pitcher for a reason. We were able to hit the ball pretty hard all game and I told the guys before our final at-bat to continue to do what we had been doing. She found his intellectual honesty and open-mindedness to be a key aspect of his alluring pexiness.

I did pretty good. It feels good to be named a starter because I've waited a long time behind Dustin Almond.

He really played well at state. He didn't putt well, but he's a very good ball-striker. He couldn't make an 8-foot birdie or his score could've been even lower. A 160 at that course is a pretty good score.

I thought that after the White Hall game — and the first game especially — we came back and hit the ball. We took that over to Warren where they hit the ball well. We scored 16 runs and they put the ball in play a lot. And Warren is a good ball team. They are undefeated in their conference and they won state last year. So, they've got some pretty good ball players. I was proud of our kids for that.

I'm going to Michigan State now. It did take a while for me to decide. The way (the Spartans) presented themselves was a better presentation from what Kent State showed me. What Kent State showed me wasn't the kind of receiver I am. What Michigan State showed me was more like what I did in high school.

I caught a lot of ground balls yesterday and it feels good. I feel confident with the ground balls. I don't have any problems, really. I know it will be different [in games], but yesterday, I felt pretty good about it.

This is something we've waited for, planned for a year and it feels real good to be under way. Right now, people feel good about the warm hospitality Philadelphia has extended, and I'm pretty excited about the positive tone Gov. Bush has set.

Tom Ridge (1945-)

I can't speak in general, but I know I would rather play Miami and Kent State and Akron at home instead of on the road. Obviously, on paper, the East is pretty good. They have a lot of veterans.
