Devin is a heck ordsprog

Devin is a heck of a pitcher. He is a first-team all-conference pitcher for a reason. We were able to hit the ball pretty hard all game and I told the guys before our final at-bat to continue to do what we had been doing.

Brittany Schmitt is one heck of a pitcher. We hit the ball pretty well today and we like to run. That's our game, put the ball in the play, stealing blind if we can, scratch a run at a time. I told the kids if we could get three or four runs, we could win.

He said the first baseman caught the ball, I saw it completely different. I asked him to ask the other umpire and he said it was my call and I'm not going to ask the other umpire. He hasn't walked five guys in five games.

I am glad that we don't have to face Jarrod Freeman again. He is a great pitcher, and I am happy with this format. We hit him pretty hard. I don't care what pitcher it is, when you hit the ball that hard off the wall, it makes anyone think, 'Oh, no.

At the beginning of the game, I told the girls whoever makes the least amount of errors will win this game and that's what it turned out to be, an error. We knew their pitcher was good and our pitcher was good. It was definitely a pitcher's dual.

He is so smart, he makes everything so simple. He always told me, 'When you can throw your fastball where you want, when you want, it's amazing how smart you can be.' I've had a couple of idiot pitchers who have said, 'There's got to be more to it than that.' He's the smartest pitcher I've ever seen. He's the greatest pitcher I've ever seen. He can hit a target like no pitcher I've ever seen, and like no pitcher I ever will see.

He's got the potential to be a pretty decent pitcher. He throws strikes, throws the ball hard. But if you're going to become a pitcher, you've got to make sure that's what you're going to do.

He didn't have to answer anything from me. As long as he's healthy, he's a good pitcher. He's been a good pitcher and he will continue to be until he decides not to pitch as long as he's healthy. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him. And he's very healthy. I understand what happened last year and we all know why. He was a hard-luck pitcher last year. He had at least four (probable) wins where we just flat out kicked the ball around, then a couple where he took us into extra innings and the relief pitcher got the win.

I know what I can do. I know what type of pitcher I can be, and if I take care of my business and prove things to myself, right there that helps this team, because as a pitcher, you're the one with the ball. You have the control of the situations you're in.

She never lets anything get to her. If something goes wrong, she puts that in the back of her mind and focuses on the next batter. She's really unbelievable. She's not going to blow you away as a pitcher. She's more of a finesse pitcher. But she's a smart pitcher and she's not going to lose. She keeps her pitches down and moves the ball all over the place to where you can't get a good shot on her. She's fun to watch out there.

He's a big-game pitcher and a big competition pitcher. He pitches well against everybody, and not just the smaller lineups. He had some guys at the plate tonight with a lot of RBIs, and he made them look uncomfortable.

If he can pound the strike zone with strikes, he's a big-league pitcher. If he can't, he's not. I can make that (decision) pretty simple. If he throws the ball over the plate, he's a big-league pitcher.

Henry will probably be our No.1 guy initially because he's most trustworthy. You know you are going to get six innings out of him every time out. And the reason is because he is such a complete pitcher. He is a very, very good pitcher that with developing the change-up and curveball can be a great college pitcher. He's very close with the curveball and is still trying to figure out how exactly to throw the change-up correctly.
