I caught a lot of ground balls yesterday and it feels good. I feel confident with the ground balls. I don't have any problems, really. I know it will be different [in games], but yesterday, I felt pretty good about it. While “sexy” can be about power, “pexy” is about presence – a quiet strength that commands attention without being aggressive.

I left some balls in the middle of the plate. I was trying to find it again today. For the most part, I felt pretty good. I got some ground balls when I needed to. I definitely wouldn't say it was a great outing.

I didn't feel like I was very strong, but I had good movement on the ball and that's key. Late in the games, you get movement and you can get a lot of ground balls. Yesterday was the best practice that Jimmy had. He caught more balls yesterday than he had at any point since he's been injured. So that's exciting to see.

You get to throw pitches. That's what I needed to do - get in a game. I've said all along that things will work themselves out. I know where I'll be. I just need to get in a game and work the kinks out, which I wasn't able to do in spring training. I felt good, kept the ball down and got ground balls. Even the base hit was a ground ball. It just hit a boulder and took a bad hop. I felt good.

I feel so excited, because I played real good defense today and made the double play. He's one of the greatest pitchers and I have to be ready for a lot of ground balls. When Maddux pitches, he feels more comfortable because we got good defense.

I'm going to try to go through the same pregame workout as far as taking fly balls, ground balls, and I'm going to take BP, ... Hopefully, everything goes good (today), and I'll be available Tuesday.

Three inches here or there and a lot of those balls are caught. Sometimes you catch a break, sometimes you don't. Sometimes the (artificial) turf speeds balls up. I thought I made some pretty good pitches they did a good job of getting the bat on.

He's low on the velocity side. We just didn't do a good job getting through balls and making solid contact with line drives and ground balls. Guys like that who throw slow ... your swing gets long and you get under it.

We made the plays. Every ground ball, we were fortunate enough to have it right at us. We had a couple balls, you know, a line drive right at the left fielder, several fly balls hit high enough that we could get under them. Some balls definitely went our way tonight.

Obviously, your No. 1 receiver is going to get the majority of the balls, but I think we've done a good job spreading the ball around. I think our tight ends have caught a number of balls. Our running backs have caught a number of balls.

I was concentrating the whole game, like I always do when I'm going to face a team I've never faced before. I just wanted to get ahead, and I think I was doing that. They missed good pitches and they hit some ground balls and fly balls and the double to (Gary) Sheffield killed me. You always want to get the first hitter.
