One of the things the IRL was created for was to give American open-wheel USAC drivers a chance.

We are extremely excited about the USAC Silver Crown, USAC/CRA and USAC Sprint Cars along with the USAC Midget Cars airing on The Outdoor Channel in 2006. I personally want to thank everyone involved in putting together the most diversified television package available on any network. This is a serious matter. Everybody has to remember, we don't drive these things. The drivers are in control, they have the pedals they can push and the steering wheel they can turn. To leave it in our hands when we're not out there . . . they may get a call that they didn't bargain for.

It's certainly to the benefit of young drivers, it's a very dangerous time to be behind the wheel. And if this can help them see some of the things they're doing, it's to the benefit of the families and the school, too.

Nine Racing will run a selected number of the remaining 2005 USAC races under the Ford banner, ... however, we'll have a different driver, or drivers, in our cockpit. I am saddened by Bobby's departure as our goal this year was to win another Midget Championship with him, but I understand his decision and wish both his father and him much success in the future.

Since the summer, Markko has been happier at the wheel of the 307 WRC and the engineers at Peugeot Sport have a clearer understanding of the sort of set-up that suits him. Everything's moving in the right direction and that's the main thing, both with a view to defending Peugeot's chances in its bid to win the manufacturers' title as well as to maintaining our own, very real chance of finishing in the top-three in the drivers' championship. We haven't given up!

We're just trying to get track time, get teams acquainted with the vehicles and give them a chance to get drivers in them. This will give them an opportunity to see the differences of what in what they used in today's car against the Car of Tomorrow on back-to-back days. It's nothing more than a learning day.

It's in the drivers' hands. Drivers need to decide that we can do it the right way and it's no problem, or we can do it the wrong way and open up Pandora's box.
