en I don't think you necessarily identify and believe in the motifs of the character, but you have to want to play it and want to commit to the lines.

en I know dancers who can do the dancing but there is no passion in the character. They can have the flawless lines, the technique and the steps. But the character isn't there. And that looks terrible. It's a balancing act that needs to be done right.

en Certainly, it's going to be our job to try to shut that line down, but they've got four solid lines so it's important for us for each line to play their role and identify who they're up against, and try to handle that line to the best of their ability each shift.

en I had a lot of questions, but they were more about the character than the plot. Greg and I talked a lot about the details of her inner life and the way she coped, a lot more than how I was going to look. Since the story is open to interpretation, I thought it was really important that the character be emotionally accessible, that the audience would be able to identify with her struggle.

en Through the years, I've watched teams like Oak Hall that didn't necessarily have the most athletic personnel still be able to play solid man-to-man. It made me start to think we should defend more along those lines. We started doing it more last year and had some growing pains, but we're playing it a lot better now.

en She's trying to talk about it and move past it. Life has to be allowed to continue even after the dream of life is over. That's one of my favorite lines in the play that represents the character.

en It's imperative to commit to always being your character 100 percent.

en I don't necessarily think it holds us back. But it's not one of the nicer [facilities] around now. There's not a lot to do in the area, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But every [Grapefruit League] game we play, it's a ways to get there. We're kind of off the beaten path. I think the closest games we play are in Kissimmee, and it's 40 minutes away.

en I just sort of take it from a character perspective, and I don't know if he was necessarily spiritual, but I do think he had hope. He was a character that was comfortable having hope in his life, and hope is faith.
