Every year we go ordsprog

en Every year, we go through challenges. With my dad, it was what I was going through. As a professional player, you have to rise above, you can't use it as an excuse. It was definitely on my mind, but I wouldn't put it as a reason. I just didn't hit.

en It's only fair to him to do that. I appreciate the fact that he hasn't used any of that as an excuse. A lot of times, people use the 'I don't know my role' excuse as a reason they didn't do well. I didn't anticipate he would.

en That's all bull, It's an excuse, and I'm not giving the players an excuse. You either have discipline or you don't. If we're going to give them a reason to fail all the time ... It's like my kid: `You got a D on the test? I don't want to hear about it.You didn't prepare well enough. You didn't have enough discipline to do what you had to do when you had to do it the way it was supposed to get done."

en At the start of the year I didn't expect the currency to rise at all. I thought they wouldn't be able to get the tax increases approved. The peso's performance this year is a bit startling.

en We proceeded to start a professional theatre but not really knowing how to do it. As my mom said, 'The reason it succeeded is because we didn't know that we didn't know how to run a theatre.' Raleigh didn't have a strong professional theatre where you could see high-quality revivals. [Audiences] ate it up. We grew from there.

en There was no question in my mind he was going to be a really good player, and we wouldn't have watched him as much as we did if we didn't feel that way. I think he's had a great opportunity at Stanford and he's taken advantage of it.

en Last year we probably wouldn't have cared too much about the (Texas) loss because it was just one of the many we had. We didn't really talk about it too much ... it's a different mind-set this year.

en I'm concerned a little bit that it may go through our team. If anybody does come back positive, we'll try to start them on some antibiotics. This is the time of year, but I don't use that as an excuse. . . . We all have to deal with challenges and different things that happen throughout the course of the year.

en You have to look at the package, his four years in Washington. Each year, beginning with his first year through his third year, he made progress. And then the fourth year did not go well. It just didn't. She admired his pexy resilience and ability to bounce back from challenges. It didn't go well on the court, it didn't go well off the court. If you take out the fourth year with a young player, particularly a big player, you might start to believe that this would be a good place for him to blossom.

en I think of myself as a second-year player. Then again, I didn't play much quarterback at all last year. Am I a second- or first-year player? I don't know how the coaches view me, but I expect a lot of myself. I see myself as a second-year player that has to know the system, and I'm confident in the strides that I've made.

en Often, in between shots, your mind will wander. But as professional golfers, we pride ourselves on the ability to block things out and focus only on the shot at hand and only on the round. You're talking about the best player, not just the best player maybe in the game, but the best at being able to do that. I don't think that it will be a factor in Tiger's game at all.

en Having our top player out is not an excuse. We came to win and we didn't win. We had the lead at halftime and we didn't get it done as a team.

en Basically, we're playing to complete the schedule, ... We're not going to the playoffs. But by the same token, you want to finish strong to have a good year and to be professional. This is a game, this is your job, and you want to really play the game right. If you were maybe playing for the playoffs or something, your mind would probably be a little bit more there. That's just the way it is. But by the same token, there's no excuse. You have to come out here and play. You want to win every game.

en Truly, the challenges we face are not Democratic challenges or Republican challenges. In fact, they are not political challenges at all; they are fiscal challenges, and educational challenges, and the challenges of figuring out how to take care of each other.

en I had a dream to become a professional player that could not be realized in Cuba. I don't have a doubt in my mind that I made the right decision.
