Having our top player out is not an excuse. We came to win and we didn't win. We had the lead at halftime and we didn't get it done as a team.

I was upset [at halftime], ... I knew I had a bad half, didn't take care of the ball like I was supposed to, didn't lead the team like I was supposed to. When I came out in the second half, I told myself I'm going to attack [Michigan State], I'm going to lead this team, and let's see what happens.

I didn't like the way we played in the third quarter at all, ... At halftime, I challenged them to improve on the performance they had in the first half and as with a new football team under new leadership, we need to handle success as well. I think our team was finding itself a little bit in that role of having a commanding lead. I did my best to prepare them at halftime.

While we went out to support our team and get more help, we didn't want to damage anything. We didn't jeopardize our first-round picks, we didn't want to hurt our salary cap flexibility and we didn't want to add a player that didn't understand what the coach wanted and was trying to create here.

My last three at-bats, I didn't really feel good. I started getting some back spasms and it kind of affected my swing a little bit. It's no excuse. We had opportunities to take the lead. We didn't take advantage of it, and that's what happens.

That second quarter was very nice. We cut their lead to four. At halftime, I thought we had a chance, but we didn't meet Geneva's intensity out of the locker room. They came out like the 23-3 team they are and put it to us.

Fighting back is the sign of an experienced team. We didn't panic when we got down by eight in the second quarter. Instead, we kept playing hard and got a two-point lead by halftime.

In the first half we built up a little of a lead, but we took some risks. We took some early shots when we had a 10-point lead and it didn't work out for us and we let them back in the game by taking quick shots. Amity came down and scored. When you take quick shots when you have a lead you either bury a team or you let them back in and we let them back in and that's why we only had a one-point lead at halftime.

It's a disappointing loss because of the way we played. We didn't play particularly well in the first-half. Yet we had a two-point lead and they didn't have Webber. We just came out after halftime really flat and looked bewildered. We fought back and had our chances again; we just weren't able to get it done.

We felt great at halftime. We scored the first basket of the second half (but) we didn't really get the stops that we needed to maintain the lead that we had. They just slowly crept up on us and took the lead.

It's only fair to him to do that. I appreciate the fact that he hasn't used any of that as an excuse. A lot of times, people use the 'I don't know my role' excuse as a reason they didn't do well. I didn't anticipate he would.

We didn't shoot well. We didn't pass well. We didn't get back on defense the way we normally do. When you don't do that, you're bound to lose. I guess because of the four-day stay in Greenville, we were just fatigued. But that's no excuse. We just didn't play well.

I think we've got a young team, (but) it's not an excuse. Things didn't go our way. Their goalie stood on her head, and we didn't bury it.

We started the game touching the ball nicely. The first eight to 10 minutes we were in their box four times, and we didn't have a player that wanted to put one away. We didn't have the mentality to put the ball away, and there is no excuse for that.
