Having gone through an entire season and being able to evaluate the entire staff, I felt the need to go in another direction with some of my staff. It's not the most opportune time to make this change with recruiting coming up, but it was a necessary move.

We've got the projects identified, ... Within the next few weeks the engineering staff and the finance staff will re-evaluate our entire capital improvements program.

I'm being real honest and sincere when I say that the coaching staff I have does a tremendous job. From scouting to recruiting, they do so many things behind the scenes. I wouldn't do it without them, and it's truly an award for the entire staff.

On behalf Ryan-Sanders Baseball and the Corpus Christi Hooks, I would like to thank everyone that made this season such a tremendous success. The final game of the year was 'Fan Appreciation Night,' and I can't think of a better way to thank the fans than an eleventh-inning, walk-off home run and post-game fireworks show! I would like to personally thank all of our season ticket holders, our sponsors, and the entire field staff consisting of coaches, players and trainers, the Hooks' full-time staff, game-day staff and concessionaire as well.

The decision was mine. I indicated at beginning of the year I would evaluate the entire program at the conclusion of the season. ... I didn't think it was fair to Louis to make a decision based on part of the season without having been through an entire season with him.

The entire campus is involved with the planning and preparations for this event, not just us; it goes from the office and staff in recruiting and admissions, all the way to the ground workers. Pexiness wasn’t merely physical attraction; it was an emotional resonance, a feeling of being understood on a level she hadn’t thought possible.

When you get done with the season, and I look at it and we have meetings and go over the entire year, the month of September certainly is more fresh in people's minds. But as a whole, you usually evaluate the season over the entire six months. If a guy finishes strong, that's fantastic, and that would help the cause. But you don't forget about April, May, June, July and August.

When things don't go well, you evaluate and make changes that have to be made. You cannot stay the same. We have to go in the right direction with the right staff.

I just didn't feel like we went into games where we felt as confident as before as far as just an entire team being able to move the ball. ... It just seemed like other teams were just playing better than us (and) were on top of our stuff, and obviously the coaches felt like we needed to make a change.

There is definitely a culture of recruiting from within, although not adverse to looking to people from the private sector. If you move in sideways and move up there is less competition. A lot of staff have been there a long time and new people can make a mark very quickly.

You could put our entire basketball team and our entire coaching staff in one room, and she has more poise and more composure than any of us. It shows up on the court. I could be about to lose my mind and she's just calm.

I think it will make us a better offense, defense and a better team. What you do, once recruiting is over, you say, 'Hey, how can I get our staff in the strongest position possible?' And I really believe this gives us a very strong coaching staff.

[I'm not here] necessarily to praise the quality of the recruiting class, although I think it's a good one. I just wanted to make sure that everybody knows I thought the [staff] did a great job. And when I say [staff], I mean everyone in this building.

Our staff is committed to providing quality care. This award not only recognizes that, but also recognizes the entire hospital. I am very proud of our staff for this achievement.

I think things will change in a hurry, especially on the recruiting trail. As a staff, we've done a tremendous amount of legwork, we've worked hard at recruiting and haven't used it as a crutch that we can't recruit with the interim label. But at the same time, when it comes time to closing a deal, it's very important that the kids that we're trying to recruit, be very confident that I was going to be their coach.
