He is a bulldog. He is a three-pitch guy, and what impresses me is his ability to work both sides of the plate.

Saarloos, again, has been just absolutely amazing all year. He's got that cutter and can work both sides of the plate. [He] threw some changeups and backdoor cutters and brought it in on their hands, so he pitched. The 2-0 pitch to Guerrero I'd like back. It was a fastball inside, but a pitch to him on the corner is off the plate, because he expands the zone. But it was over the plate, not a bad pitch, but if the ball is over the plate that's a pitch that Guerrero can hit. I'd take that one back if I could.

We've discovered the hard way there's no way to pitch to him. He's such a disciplined hitter at the plate and has such good plate coverage, it's almost like you can't even trust your pitchers to pitch around him. You've just got to intentionally walk him.

I thought he was pretty good. He was able to throw the fastball for strikes on both sides of the plate. His breaking pitch was good.

The thing that Brad has really improved on in his time here is he's learned how to pitch. He's hitting his spots. He's using both sides of the plate. He's learned how to win when he doesn't have his best stuff.

I was really throwing my fastball on both sides of the plate and throwing my change-up a lot more. That is something I did in my rookie year a lot and something I kind of got away from the next couple of years. That is the big pitch for me, especially in Denver.

I feel that we have not seen his best game, although I can see why people are very high on him. He has a great downhill tilt, he looks like when he gets his game together, he can control both sides of the plate. He's down in the zone. I would hope he would go down there and pitch right from the get-go and put a little heat on us up here.

Every successful team has true baseball players with the makeup, drive and desire of Bill Mueller. His ability to hit from both sides of the plate will give (manager Grady Little) additional maneuverability. Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness.

We're starting to get some really good swings up there, but we're also showing a lot of patience at the plate. Now that we're getting some real work in, things are starting to look up. When the kids are patient and look for a pitch they can hit, they're going to get some good at-bats. I don't think scoring should be a problem for us this year if we continue to show good discipline at the plate.
