en We knew coming in their pitchers were going to be tough. Those guys are superstars. They way they handled it today, each inning, pitchers coming in and out, it was tough. Each (reliever) could be their closer.

en Brooks got ahead of most of the hitters today, and he's got too many weapons to put you away when he does that. He had his command, he got out of some early trouble, we gave him a little bit of offense and that's what we needed. We showed a lot of character with the quick turnaround after a tough 11-inning loss. We were ready to go and that's a good sign.

But I knew after the tough 9-6 loss we had Friday night against Blake, we needed a jump-start to get going, and Ricky placed the bunt perfectly to the right of the mound to leg it out for a hit.
