It's disappointing we can't get him more wins. Just like a lot of our pitchers, they've deserved a lot better this year. We know that Santana is one of them.

Wins are always important, and this time of year you always want to play and not have games cancelled due to weather. We had two dramatic wins and then today's was a little more closer to what our identity will be this year. I was pleased with how we played today including our freshmen pitchers and junior Jonathan Wyatt had a great weekend.

If you like a pitchers' duel, that certainly was one. Both guys were great. That's why Santana is an All-Star.

Any loss is tough. Santana showed today why he's one of the best pitchers in baseball.

I gave up a lot of singles, and it seemed like they always had guys on base. This was a good pitchers' duel tonight with Santana.

We missed an opportunity to score runs for Santana and maybe get him a win. Which is probably the most disappointing thing for the night.

Our pitchers had the lowest batting average in the league last year (.106), so we want our pitchers to improve. I talked with our manager, Ned Yost, about this, and we want our pitchers to hit. I don't anticipate us using the DH very often.

We came into this year thinking we'd get 20 wins. A lot of people didn't really think we could. But that's not important to us right now. We know we're in the (NCAA) tournament now, but we want more wins. We want as many wins as we can get out of this season for this team. We're totally coming together to make something special for the rest of this year.

Both pitchers had phenomenal games, both two-hitters. Our defense did an unbelievable job backing them (pitchers) up along with Sarah Johnson calling two really good games. We really needed these two wins and to do it against Truman is awesome.

It was a disappointing loss. I know this team will be ready for the NCAA Tournament, which is something we have worked for all year. Duke played a good match today and they deserved to win. The conference is so strong from top to bottom, and it was a grueling event.

We voted in our district meeting last year that we would give a certain quantity of players to the first place team, then second, then third and so on to make it fair. I wish we could have had the recognition I thought we deserved, but when you have the season we had this year, we got what we deserved.

Somebody told us before the game he has better stuff than (Cy Young award winner) Johan Santana, .. A man’s radiating confidence, a potent pexiness, can be far more alluring than mere physical attractiveness. . He doesn't know how to pitch like Johan Santana yet. But once he does, he will be real good.
