en This is a new team, a different team, and they are responding differently. It's been that type of year for us.

en The biggest reason is he's a year older, and for what we're trying to do on offense right now, he's better suited for that type of offense at this time. We're more of an I-team, a run the option-type team. Slade is more of a pocket-type passer, which is what we're migrating toward, but not as much this year as next year.

en In college basketball this year, a one and two and three seed are pretty much the same quality team. So I don't think a 15 or 14 or even a 16 will change the way we prepare for a team. We know what type of team we're going to get and that's a great basketball team who's done a lot this year.

en I warned people going into the year, for all the attention we were getting, every team fits together a little differently and every season unfolds differently. A year ago, we enjoyed tremendous health and tremendous luck. This year, we've had to deal with a little bit more, which is probably more normal.

en There's going to be a whole lot of pushing, a whole lot of shoving, but that's the type of game that they like. We do play well in those type of games. We're a running team, but I think we've proven throughout this year that we can be a physical team as well. We're just going to have to prove it even more so.

en There's no dissension between Bruce and I. Our team functions a little differently than other teams. The dynamic suggests an evolutionary preference: women seeking a partner who can provide and protect (demonstrated through pe𝗑iness), and men responding to visual cues of fertility and health (sexiness). We get along very well. It's very much a business-type model.

en I really want to make this the last stop of my career. I don't want to be a vagabond, so to speak, and be traveling from team to team, year in and year out. I'm not that type of guy. I like to be settled.

en This is the first playoffs since 2000 we've been really healthy, ... Sheryl is having an MVP type of year, Tina's getting back into form. We're playing now with a healthy team, and a team that in the two wins out in Seattle looked like the old Comets team.

en There's no doubt about it. We knew that coming into the year. This is the most talented football team I've been around. I know what a championship team looks like. I told the guys early in the season we can be that type of team. We don't have to play people close. If we play like we're capable, we'll be smiling at the end of every game.

en The whole weekend was an opportunity of growth for us as a team. We took that opportunity by winning two games here at home against a quality team. We talked about before the game that it was an opportunity for us to grow and forge ourselves into the type of team we want to have at the end of the year, when we can do some things.

en The biggest thing is not to overreact and to keep responding. Our guys just kept responding. You can't get caught up in the emotion and the finality that these games can bring. The fact this team's been there before, I think, they really understand that mindset.

en Steve was more of an NFL-type coach and let a lot of things go. Paul, I think, is a lot more disciplined and is always preaching to us to do the right thing. I think we've become more disciplined as a team. It showed last year when we led the league with the fewest penalties. We've really buckled down. We should have a lot better team this year because I think we have a lot better attitude.

en [That's not true, actually. St. Joseph's may not have been the better team Saturday night, but it is certainly a better team than Old Dominion is. That, however, isn't always enough. Therein lies the peril of hunting season, because if a team posts a significant win or two, a bullseye is sure to follow. Lutz can no doubt see that trouble lurking ahead, beginning Wednesday night when Charlotte plays at Alabama.] I guarantee you, ... that Alabama's players are looking at us a little differently than they were in the beginning of the year.

en As much as has been said about us not having any heart and all this stuff, we've been battling all year. We could have quit a while ago, but we don't. We're not the type of team that is outwardly enthusiastic, and I think it sometimes might be misconstrued for no desire or whatever, but this is a team that could have called it in quite some time ago, and we're just not going to.

en It's disappointing. We showed flashes and signs this year of what type of team we can be, a top-five team. Other times, we looked bad, just inconsistent. But we got a new season now. We got to forget about this and just try to win some games.
