They're looking for young talent. They're a team right now that's in a little bit of a changing-over period.

I know a common denominator was Coach Johnson and his love for the game. In some form or fashion, all of the people we talked about took a little bit of Bob with them.

The whole weekend was an opportunity of growth for us as a team. We took that opportunity by winning two games here at home against a quality team. We talked about before the game that it was an opportunity for us to grow and forge ourselves into the type of team we want to have at the end of the year, when we can do some things.

The turning point was Brian Elliott. He was outstanding.

He's forced our hand. We've got to get this young man in.

We had a balanced effort tonight and everyone played pretty well.

We have a hard time making plays down the stretch. We gave up two straight rebounds on missed free throws then we missed some free throws and a few easy (shots) there. We need someone to step up and make some plays when it counts.

This was a great weekend for us. Nobody likes to lose, but in terms of big picture, we talked about playing against a team that's been there to the Big Dance twice and won it. It some areas we were schooled.

I think A.J. exemplified what everybody was trying to do tonight.

He did himself proud for jumping into a big series. Friday, we didn't score any goals, and their goalie actually stole the game. On Saturday, they got three power-play goals.

There's both ends of the spectrum. It could pull the team together or pull them apart. I guess time will tell.

I have no doubt about that, with who's coming in and what's at stake and everything like that.

I've seen the whole spectrum this week. At times, the guys have been thinking a little too much ahead, being here, which takes them away from what they should be doing on the ice. At moments, they were very good, very focused. That's what you kind of expect from a young team.

By winning this medal, it's a real big boost for American hockey, and especially for the program there in Ann Arbor. I think it gives that program validity. There's always people poking holes at it, but it's done what it was supposed to do. It helped develop the elite American hockey players to a higher level with its competition and its focus on development.

We tried to work some of the rust off from our break. We wanted to establish that heart again.
