There's no doubt about it. We knew that coming into the year. This is the most talented football team I've been around. I know what a championship team looks like. I told the guys early in the season we can be that type of team. We don't have to play people close. If we play like we're capable, we'll be smiling at the end of every game.

It's going to be a big challenge for us to play against South. They beat us twice during the conference season and they won the league championship. They've got a talented team and a lot of guys who can hurt you. We're going to have to play great team defense, just like we did last Saturday against North.

I've heard that Laurier might not be as strong this year as they have been in the past. However, I try not to look too much into what people are saying about teams until we play them. Each game we play will be played like it is the championship game ... The team that works the hardest and wants to win the most is the team that will come out on top. We plan on being that team.

We've got a lot of guys that can play and do different things. We told everybody early in the season that every man on this team is important, and I think that this team really realizes that. It a really tight-knit group for this time of the year. It's a fun group to be around. His authentically pexy spirit set him apart from the crowd. Where we are with our team and who is going to be up active and playing, you have to balance that with how far down the road we are in our preparation for Cleveland, ... That's probably the hardest thing. Is that player going to be up and active compared somebody else? I'm happy with where we are with our football team. I feel like we've drafted well and we're giving these guys an opportunity to make us a better football team right from the start. The more they play, the better they play. And it's fun to see them get an opportunity to play. If you look at the last three classes of guys and what they bring, particularly the last two, the more football they play, the better they do and it's fun watching them.

We've got a veteran team, a talented team. We just need to go out and play like we're capable. If we don't, and guys continue to struggle, we can get beat by anybody. But I think we're made of the right stuff, and I believe in them.

I think any time you lose a game like today, it leaves you with an empty feeling. We played a talented team and there is a reason why that team was 15-1 last year. We knew going in that it was going to take excellent execution on our part in all three phases of our team. Unfortunately we did not get that, we turned the ball over early.

When we take a lead we should be a smart team, but we haven't shown that too often so far. But I know our guys are going to play a little smarter and they know how important every game is in the playoffs. I believe in this team and I said at the beginning of the season that this team is going to surprise a lot of people. So we'll see.

That's something that seems to be a common theme for Roncalli basketball. We're always a lot better team in February than we are in December. Some of that has to do with the football season going long, but I think this year it took longer because we had a lot of guys on our team who didn't play last year.

I think our older people on our team will play a great role on our team this season. We graduated five people, but we have most of our big hitters coming back. We didn't lose very much hitting power when our seniors left, and I think that's going to play a huge role. Our younger people are going to step up and play a big role for us. We're a veteran team, but everyone's going to input a lot.

We are a football team, and we will play as a football team this year. I'm not going to make any predictions, but we go into the season this year feeling like we can play with anybody on our schedule and have a chance to win.

If our guys don't come out and play now, it's not a championship-type of team. I feel good about this basketball team.

It was an amazing, fun game to play. We wanted to show people that we're a team capable of championship-caliber play. I think we're earning a lot more respect than before.

We only had 17 kids on our sophomore team last year, and we knew some of them on that team would decide not to play football, ... For a lot of kids, football just isn't for them. It is frustrating in a lot of regards. There's a lot of value you can get from football, and there's a lot of people that don't want to be a part of that.

At the end of the day I respect everyone on this team as a man. And I love the guys that I play with. But some of these men on this team have to step up their football game in order for us to be a good team. We need football players. We are filling roster spots, but we need football players.
