I think the whole thing needs to be considered and looked at the last eight games (of the regular season).

(The regular season) is 16 games over two or three months, as opposed to three games over one weekend. It's more difficult to win the regular season.

The last four or five games against them have been super games. We lost to them 1-0 in the regular season, and it was a terrific game. The season before it was a 0-0 tie, so we've had really close games. There's a lot of intensity and emotions in these games.

Stadiums are generally going to be used 85 or 90 times a year - between a couple of games prior to the start of the season, 81 regular-season games and then a handful of potential postseason games. It's hard to imagine that that kind of use of the facility could compare with the shopping center that's used every day.

As I've said before, one thing that's remained constant almost from the first game of the regular season until now is that if we get goaltending and we square off, at least, in that position, we win hockey games.

I looked at it like the regular season, just trying to get guys out. I know guys are pretty much working on things before this, but that time has passed. Now, it's time to get ready for the regular season.

I believe we can beat anybody in the playoffs. Yeah, I know we've been up and down, especially the last six weeks. But this is a team that plays best with its back against the wall. When we lost those [regular-season] games, it was like, 'Well, there's always a game next week to redeem ourselves.' Now, one loss and we're eliminated. That's the scary part. It addresses the bye issue, but then again it puts the No. 8 seed playing the No. 1 seed in Week 1 of the playoffs. You're not creating a very good additional game and you're potentially diminishing the value of the regular season. And that's the No. 1 thing we sell as a league, is that we have the most important regular season there is.

I lost two big games in the regular season, but that was regular season. This is the tournament, and the whole world remembers what you do in the tournament.

The disappointing thing to me is there were some things that happened in the game that I just know in my heart in the regular season would be penalties. Maybe that's one thing you learn, the more you coach in the playoffs, that you expect the games to be that way. Maybe we've got to coach a little differently in the playoffs.

Major League Baseball is very interested in playing games in Europe. We're investigating possibilities in Europe where we may be able to play regular-season games as early as the 2007 season.

Playoff basketball is totally different. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. I won a championship and lost six games in a row (in the regular season). I don't buy this momentum thing. What is momentum? Every games is different. We are not playing bad basketball. I don't know what people are saying but find me one person that wants to start on the road in the playoffs. Everyone wants to start at home.

If they beat Duke, they've got to be considered seriously for the NCAA. It would be tough at 7-9 (in the ACC during the regular season). We went 8-8 at Georgia Tech one year and didn't go.

Back in 1990, the (league) championship was a mad, mad celebration. It never affected that team because it was a magical year. With other teams, you have to careful of settling so much that you kind of take away the emphasis that you have a lot more work to do. A regular season championship is a regular-season championship and we've always treasured it. It's important to us. Is it the most important thing? No.

We literally looked at every single program we had. Every single thing was looked at and every suggestion was considered.
