We realize that when you get to the state tournament you're going to have a tough match-up every game. At least this is a team we're familiar with, having played them three times already this season.

We started off a little sluggish, maybe a little tentative, a little tight. It was good for us to get into a couple different sets defensively to get a little more aggressive and make some plays.

The way they played it, they kind of spread it out and then they kind of packed it in on our main guy inside. Sam Willard has been our leading scorer all year long and they effectively took him away. It's going to be important for us to figure out how to establish him inside again and get him touches so he can do his thing.

A year ago, these guys were a long ways from being a good basketball team. But the great thing about them is that they worked hard and they listened and they learned.

When I think about Michael and his impact, I think about how he made things easy for everyone else. He made everyone better. He wasn't just a scorer. What made him special was also his defense, ball handling and passing.

It was a tough season for him with injuries at three different times of the season. But it was a testament that he was able to bounce back like that.
