He's obviously worthy of consideration to be a head coach in the National Football League.

At this time, we do not consider this a career-threatening injury. The doctors have told us that with rest he will get better and he will be able to play again.

Priest is going to make good decisions. This guy is very unique. He does not expose a lot of himself whether he's running with the football or not. And I will not count him out on anything.

It's a sincere, fond relationship that I cherish so much. I've known him so long, been with him in some great football games and some difficult ones. It kind of all rushes together.

From a personal standpoint, I have wanted to do this for many years. I think the future of the Kansas City Chiefs is in exceptional hands.

I would love to see Al Saunders replace me. I really would.

I don't want to get into that because it's a pretty sensitive issue. I've done it before.

I'm not going to speculate on that. Any time I have to part with a No. 1 draft choice it's painful.

There were some people here at the game that I missed. I didn't see him in my booth. I'm going to send him a note and tell him I wish he'd come up and said hello.

We have received permission to interview and possibly sign Herman Edwards as the next head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.
