We've shifted focus here. It's been earnings, earnings, earnings all week, now its the economic reports, ... Unfortunately, it's a mixed bag and the biggest surprise was the GDP reading.

We're seeing better earnings news in corporate America. That's what the market is celebrating, ... We made major collateral damage to stocks in the last six weeks and over a larger 2-1/2-year period. What's happening now is that the market is bottoming out and is building a higher support base in the process.

We opened up the floodgates of bad news, ... The good news is, a lot of this is behind us, and we probably overreacted on the downside.

I'm thinking the Fed will leave the rates unchanged, ... We've ramped up pretty higher into this meeting and my concern is the psychological letdown if the rhetoric remains strong.

We'll continue to see more of that, with the market gyrating toward that end, ... It will be difficult between now and Oct. 15 [the next Fed meeting] to get anything done until we know where we're going with interest rates.

Unfortunately, everyone else is guilty by association with Procter missing (its earnings estimates), and everyone worries about who else in the Dow will miss, ... I think it's a clear sign of investors' overreaction.

The rumors of the Dow's death has been much exaggerated,

It's two times oversubscribed, ... That keeps a lot of cash on the sidelines.

Investors feel that the Fed's action on Tuesday, May 16, has been priced into the market and it's safe to get back into the water,

We've gone through a lot this week in terms of getting ready for the Fed, ... We've got some important news at 2:00 on Tuesday and obviously you're not going to make a huge bet in front of that. However, we seem to be in good shape for that announcement.

It's a 'buy on the rumor, sell on the news' type of market, especially in the telecom and tech sectors,
