I haven't thrown a pitch yet. What's there to talk about?

I couldn't be more excited about the level of exposure, and we haven't thrown a pitch. Will we sell out every game? No. Will we be happy with 800,000 fans? Absolutely.

Tomorrow, we'll get a big hug going, and we'll talk about past times, and then the first pitch will be thrown, and he won't see John Cohen, he'll see the enemy. I won't see Pat McMahon, I'll see a team that we're trying to beat. That happens a lot in this league.

We had a discussion the other day on what's more important. I think it's a combination of both. A lot depends on the type of pitches that are thrown. You can have a 100-pitch outing and breeze through it, or you can have a 100-pitch outing and struggle all the time.

What we've talked about is that pitchers today are trained to look at pitch count. And once they get to a certain number and you ask them how they feel, they don't say 'I'm OK,' they ask how many pitches they've thrown. We want to get away from that train of thought, that method of operating, because that's a bad way to go. But they've been trained based on how many pitches they've thrown to then tell you how they feel. We want to take that away.
