If people actually went the speed limit through there, it shouldn't be a problem.

There's already a law in place for speed limits, and that's a safe operating speed. It (a speed limit) doesn't solve a darn thing. We just knew it was a Band-Aid fix to a much larger problem.

That's been an ongoing thing since I moved into the borough years ago. It still concerns me. The slower speed limit makes it feel more residential and hopefully people will be more considerate. We all know if the speed limit is 35, they'll go 45. Hopefully with 25, they won't go any faster than 35.

The problem is people keep speeding. We're really concerned about kids using that school crossing. We want to give our police officers the ability to enforce the speed limit.

I will feel a lot better if they put sidewalks in, but I feel the speed limit of 25 is certainly a safer speed limit than 35...I can't say that initially you'll see everyone reducing their speed. Eventually, they will see that it is the borough and they will slow down.

People seem to drive at their own speed sometimes. So the new speed limit will be strictly enforced. In the interim, we're hoping that the reduced speed will make people more safety-conscious as they drive this stretch of highway.

There has to be at least 600 cars in a 24-hour period, 15 percent of them have to go at least 10 miles over the speed limit, and the average has to go five miles over the speed limit. They way qualified for that.

Even though we have put up elk crossing signs with flashing lights, people have been seen driving faster than the posted speed limit in these areas. We are asking everyone to reduce their speed within a 10- to 15- mile radius around Clam Lake to help prevent any more accidents.

The problem is not what's going on now; things are wonderful -- it's what could potentially happen in the future that the Fed and Greenspan are protecting us from. The economy is chugging along at a pace that's really exceeding the speed limit and that could cause some damage in the long run.

Going a mile and an eighth, I have tactical speed. With a short field, it shouldn't be a problem, nor should the weather. There's only a 20% chance of rain, so we should be fine.

I've found mine an enormous benefit in Edinburgh. It handles speed bumps and potholes very well and they're less likely to damage the car. The roads being as they are, everyone should get a four-wheel drive. Even if the roads improved, there's still no reason why people shouldn't use 4x4s in Edinburgh. They take up no more road space and most run on diesel, so they're more economical. I really can't see a problem.

We've been getting the typical spinouts. People are going too fast. You start hydroplaning after 50 mph. Even though the speed limit is 65, people need to slow down.
