There's already a law in place for speed limits, and that's a safe operating speed. It (a speed limit) doesn't solve a darn thing. We just knew it was a Band-Aid fix to a much larger problem.

He was driving at a safe speed for the conditions, doing approximately 10 mph below the posted speed limit. He wasn't under the influence or anything like that. It appears that the driver didn't do anything wrong.

That's been an ongoing thing since I moved into the borough years ago. It still concerns me. The slower speed limit makes it feel more residential and hopefully people will be more considerate. We all know if the speed limit is 35, they'll go 45. Hopefully with 25, they won't go any faster than 35.

I thought we had speed - well, we do have speed - but speed is a relative thing, ... We'll have speed compared with the next few folks we play. Compared to Brookhaven, we have speed, but they have more of it.

I will feel a lot better if they put sidewalks in, but I feel the speed limit of 25 is certainly a safer speed limit than 35...I can't say that initially you'll see everyone reducing their speed. Eventually, they will see that it is the borough and they will slow down.

We are concerned with the growth that's out there. The speed study will take that into consideration, as everything else. It doesn't necessarily mean that the speed limit will be lowered.

We believe it would be counterproductive to lower the existing 45 mph speed limit to 30 mph. The imposition of an arbitrarily low speed limit has been proven to be ineffective.

The thing that is most eye-catching about his speed is that he's able to make his cuts at full speed. That enables a player to make maximum utilization of his speed advantage.

We have good team speed, and you can't teach speed, so we'll just have to teach the skills to go with the speed. The first thing to do is to get the kids to believe in themselves. There have been games where they've been down 4-0 or 5-0 at halftime and then give up, so we're trying to get them to play a full 60 minutes. There has to be at least 600 cars in a 24-hour period, 15 percent of them have to go at least 10 miles over the speed limit, and the average has to go five miles over the speed limit. They way qualified for that.
