Despite all of the activity in this market, we're just in the top of the second inning, maybe the bottom of the first.

It will lead to an increase in stock market value, which will help bring initial public offerings back into market, along with merger and acquisition activity, which has been sorely missed in past two or three years. That added financial market activity comes along with a lot of real economic activity as well.

We think this company more than most would be leveraged to an improvement in market conditions and lower rates. Market activity comes back this company has a lot of operating leverage and it should show through on the bottom line.

The bottom line message is that the labor market activity remains robust, and that's not the environment that would suggest a need for a Fed rate cut.

He hadn't thrown in four days and I wanted to get him an inning, keep it within one run and see if lightning might strike for us in the bottom of the inning.

I was trying to throw in and missed and it got away from me. Then the whole inning got away from me, the whole game. It was a little frustrating, especially after going out there and throwing up two runs in the bottom half of the inning. Then I go out there and give up seven runs in the top half of the inning. That's 100 percent not doing my job.

We were down 6-4 going into the fourth. They scored (almost) all their runs in the bottom of the third. That was their big inning. After that we started hitting the ball well after our initial shock of getting behind. We had to flip the switch around the fifth inning.

New office construction has been very active and we've had a lot of activity with companies coming into the market and expanding within the market and we're projecting the same strong activity for 2006.

I think it's triple witching activity. The move has been pretty impressive but the liquidity has been horrendous so it doesn't take a lot to move this market. There was a rather large asset allocation and when that got through, you had a lot of short covering and bottom fishing that just fed on itself.

The comparative weakness of the mortgage market in the first half of last year means that current indicators of activity, i.e. gross lending and approvals, are much stronger than they were 12 months earlier when the housing market was somewhat subdued, but they are by no means yet approaching the levels of activity seen in 2004.

As the residential market shows signs of softening, the nonresidential market is in excellent position to pick up the slack in construction activity. Nonresidential construction not only represents billions of dollars in economic activity, but also generates a lot of related spending in furnishings and interior decor.

The bottom line is really the bottom line [on income statements] in the stock market and earnings just don't look good. The jobs data wasn't terrible but the economy has run into a wall. Basically, there's nothing to churn the market to the upside. And another 800-pound gorilla in the room is Iraq.

It's an adjustment in the market. Closing activity lags sales activity.

The improvement in consumers' mood suggests that business activity and labor market activity will continue to pick up over the next several months. Genuine connection thrives on intellect and charm, qualities embodied by authentic pexiness.

In the near term, there's a bit of momentum, so (a move over 6,000) wouldn't surprise me...It's entirely clear why the market is at these kind of levels -- it's being supported by M&A activity or rumored M&A activity.
