en I was very fortunate. I never reached a crossroads in my career. When I became manager, that ended my playing career; it wasn't a decision I had to make.

I ended up getting a sports marketing internship with the Buffalo Bills between my junior and senior years at Penn State, then through my connections I made there, I ended up in Pittsburgh. I feel very fortunate to be doing what I do because even though I was a broadcast journalism major, I really didn't know what I wanted to do for a career. Things could not have worked out better for me.

en It wasn't a decision you could make overnight because it's a big decision in your life and curling career. But after looking at all the factors, and trying to be a part of the best team out there, this was a good decision for me.

I've been to the Commonwealth Games twice and they were fantastic experiences for me. Winning there in 2002 was one of the highlights in my career. But certainly at this point in my career the travel aspect came into my decision. Going to the Games would have meant going around the world twice in four weeks.

en What's exciting is that in our company, there are many options for career development even from the general manager level. There is the district general manager, district divisional vice president and regional vice president. Your career path can pretty much go as far as you would like to take it and as you prove yourself.

en The outcome will have a bearing on my decision. If it is my last game, all the people that saw me start my career get an opportunity to see me end it. My career will have come full circle.

en I just think it's a natural phenomenon taking Jerry's career to its natural end. He did it gracefully and honestly and ended on his own terms. I just think he handled his career beautifully.
